with that being said i'm still skeptical of this album. after he released "Be" his lyricism fell off tremendously. hell it was showing signs of weakness on the "Be" album. "Ghetto Dreams" was str8 Oscar the Grouch status--pure garbage sandwiches homes. wasn't impressed with his verses. i'm also afraid that Jay Elecronica is gonna end up with a shitty album when it drops. i've heard alot of his releases before he got signed and when i heard "The Ghost of Christopher Wallace" i was disappointed. dude took the piss, as they say in the UK (or as we say in the 'hood "went out like a sucka"), and following the Jiggaboo man's advice of "dumbing it down to double your dollars" strategy. after that cut it got worse: "Shiny Suit Theory" and this new jawnt i heard close to a month ago "Call of Duty" is BOOTY. if this is what i'm gonna expect from Je'Re Allah then i'll pass, i'm not gonna waste money on a album where he's giving us half his potential and the same goes for lonnie jr.

bootcheese3000;3657514 said:yeah p-shitty's ad-libs on top of all that shouting just aggravated me. i couldn't enjoy the song because all i ould visualize was this fool poppin' bottles of champagne and spilling it all over the place. jay e's rhymes was rugged and rough though, no doubt. the fac that it's supposed to present him as the next coming of the king of new york aka frank white aka notorious b.i.g. was also a letdown. why can't he be just jay electronica? then that "shiny suit theory" shit came out to signify him signing with roc nation. as soon as i heard his verse i was not impressed. the song was dull enough i didn't need his lazy tone to put me to sleep. then jiggaboo man comes on and hypes up the track like he's the up-and-comer trying to get his shine. funny when you get outshined on your track by your own boss. he sounds completely uninspired on this track and the tone of the beat reflected that. i get the same vibe from "call of duty"--uninspired underachieving rhymes that are beneath his potential have you heard the new song yet?

As far as his delivery is concerned, you can't say that he doesn't sound like that on 98% of his songs. It doesn't bother me because it allows me to view his lyrics for what they are instead of being distracted by what I think-he thinks-I should pay the most attention to.
