Cheers man, not sure how much UK stuff you listen to but I can give you 3 examples of guys I enjoy listening to,

Rhyme Asylum are made of 3 MC's who use some dark beats and come out with some seriously good lyrics, Possessed one of the members is a sick battle rapper:

Then there's M9 who I've only recently started listening to but the guys got skills:

Not sure who you are into but I definitely recommend looking up GodAwful on Bandcamp, X-Vandals, BeatMonstas, Logic, Invincible, Eternia, Tah From Da Bush...lotta great indie artists I am sure I will think of more.
