Jamie Lee Curtis' actual age is 58 but she played a high school senior in the original which came out in 1978 which would put her at 56 continuity wise now or 57 when it actually comes out.

No clue how this one will fit into the continuity but Michael Myers at the beginning of Halloween was around 6 when he killed his sister in 1963 so that would put him at 60 continuity wise or 61 when it actually comes out.

Because when people rebooted this last time they had no idea why it worked in the first place. Halloween only works if you stick to the foundation of the original. A reboot will take too much bad influence from the sequels like that Elm Street reboot.
