And bruh...he DIDNT ignore him!!! So your entire point is moot. He probly threw the same amount of shots Jay threw, they just didnt connect!

Where's Jim Lampley, Drake's Compubox is lookin weak.

That quote was never said btw SMMFH you're smarter than that fam....

You have your mind made up versus Drake so I'm not gonna bother SMMFH LOLOLOLOL my points still stand. And at this point in the thread it's really a matter of who you prefer SMMFH. Rap fans are the worst tho, hungry for any disrespect and mad fickle. Tis why most rappers never made it to the end.

When the time is right then you strike, but it has to be an opportunity that will bear fruit, niggas need to understand that. Nothing would have been gained if Drake went outside his "safe" zone and dropped a "hit em up" response. In war, pyrrhic victories might boost morale but they mean nothing, are expensive and accomplish nothing. Nas killed Jay-Z in the battle but if you looked at their careers TODAY you'd never guess you might say Hov won the war even.

Sigh

LOL y'all want those random bars to be responses so bad.

Jay: sorry ms drizzy for so much art talk

drake: just hits no misses, that's for the married folk

seem like a shot me

saying he drop gems and jay been lukewarm on rap skills since he got married.

Yeah I actually thought the misses flip was a nice line, but if it's actually a response to Jay, then pound for pound, it's a very weak response. I don't expect this to go any further than this unless Jay decides to respond, which I don't really see why he would. Jigga gets respect for protecting his legacy, staying relevant, and putting out a hot song, but I don't see him continuing this, since he'd be trying to engage someone who clearly isn't going to reciprocate his effort.

The fact is, Drake doesn't need to write a nice response to Jay, or address any rapper that disses him, regardless of how famous they are. The culture is simply different now. There's no pride to protect. The sense of risk and stakes that surrounded rap beefs in the past simply doesn't exist anymore. The public doesn't care about a Drake and Jay-Z battle. The ladies are still going to buy his record and niggas who like his songs on the low will still buy his albums. The competitive origin of commercial rap, in my view, is long gone. I like what Kendrick tried to do with the "Control" thing, but all it really ended up doing for me was remind me of a lost era.

What? What's wrong with what I said? I mean you don't have to agree, but why is it wack?

Opinions like that are why niggas get away with bitch shit.

Drake spoke on Jay in an interview, Jay put it in a rap, Drake reply with some did he/didnt he type shit.

You advocatin, dont advocate bitch shit man

Drake is warning jay with this shit, he's showing his skills off with subtle jabs letting jay know he's no push over, he should have jabbed harder tho, I will be surprised if this goes any further.

Where am I advocating for Drake?

I said that his response, if we can even call it that, was plainly weak. The fact that he can get away with this weakness is exactly why I'm so disappointed with Hip-Hop these days. But as much as I want rap to be more competitive, that doesn't change the fact that Drake isn't going to be held accountable by the public and his fans. Just like he wasn't with Common. Just like he wasn't with Kendrick. And just like he won't be with Jay.

This was unheard of even as far back as '01. Your fans would crucify you and stop checking for you if you didn't show up to address niggas on wax. Nas felt this pressure, hell, even Rule felt this pressure and he didn't even have bars like that.

In other words, don't shoot the messenger. Description isn't endorsement. The game just ain't the same. At the end of the day, the public isn't going to lose sleep over a Jay-Z vs Drake beef, if we can even call it that. And yes, it's a damn shame.
