1st it's not reciting rhetoric as if it's not actually true that the internet changed how we consume music, and also made it so anyone with a catchy hook and simple beat can be an instant one hit wonder. That was going to happen no matter who ran Def Jam or any other label period. Hip-Hop wasn't going to immune to that change no matter how badly people want to believe otherwise. 2nd the last thing is all you had to say. Jay's brand loyalty is where he went wrong during his Def Jam days. All the extra emotional reaction you gave wasn't needed.

Shitty acts been selling forever, and with the influence of the internet in how we consume music it's easier for shitty acts to not only get press, but keep getting their songs out there. You think a nigga like Souljah Boy would even still be known now if not for social media allowing him to drop shitty song/mixtape after another or would we be doing a "Where is the guy who made the Superman that hoe song from 06 at now?"
