Was it me, or did it seem like Monster Kody was trying to leech off of Pac's popularity? Pac kept talking about community service, etc...and Kody seemed more focused on Pac playing him in a movie, or writing a book...dont know how genuine his Kodys motives were..

Monster Kody's book was sad man. His story needed to be told in the form of a movie....correctly.

I think that's a given. All he sees is dollar signs and status. No suprise.

Im sorry , but this just isnt true. ESPECIALLY not today. I just got a house near the hood and i see em everyday. Them nggas holdin down the corner are not talking black empoweremnt, the movement, or bettering anyone, let alone themselves.

Now of course those of us gettin an education and good jobs, etc have power in groups, but thats not what we talkin about. We talkin about the streets. And Pac was rare in that he was a philosophical guy, with an art and Black Pnather background, but with a street mindset.

Them type nggas aint just runnin around in every hood...but yall can contunue w/ that rosey depiction of our culture and thats exacly why shyt wont change.

You may see them everyday, but I actually engage in conversations with them. Remember, this is a private phone call between 2 bruthas, so unless you have actually conversed with those same people you're talking about, your view on the whole thing is skewed.

And my statement wasn't only referring to young bruthas on the strip, talks like this happen in the barbershop, at the bar, at the park after we're finished hooping, fundraising events, right after church etc. and that's just the surface.

@ bolded ive talked to many hood nggas in my day lol My comment is not w/ out experience

@ underlined A lot of those guys would fall into the category i mentioned of 'gettin an education, good jobs, etc.'

Again, what made Pac unique was that he had the intellect of a scholar but the street smarts, respect, and heart in the streets. That last part is impt. Theres many OGs or old heads with great jobs that come and give back, but their heart aint in the streets, and probably rightfully so. After all, they made it out. Pac was stuck in the streets in mind and body. Probally to a fault and led to his demise. That type of mindset tho is rare.
