wow...this is amazing
I loved this piece-written from the heart (even though I didn't know some of the language) this was just a straight up beautiful piece
especially these lines
We pray
To Dawn of Summer Rain
Reds of sunset
And Whites of Corn Pollen
With garments made by Holy Beings
We ask Dark Swirling Clouds
To hear our humble voices
Ringing out in valleys, hills, and along canyon walls . . .
With renewed strength
We stand before you
In fine sash belts, silky shirts, and silver jewelry . . .
We pray
To the east:
We ask that we reevaluate ourselves,
Our values, and our belief systems . . .
To the south:
We ask that we live long happy lives,
Perceiving aspects of "right" and "not right" decisions
and the consequences that await us with each decision . . .
take pride in your people, your family, your race, your past, your history
you dont know what you have and im only telling you cuz I was adopted with no past, no history, no family tree, no roots, only a few papers tellin me my race but not knowing my origin
all i know is both my parents were young, both wore glasses, moms was italian irish and polish and dad was italian and german and that my mom died a few weeks after they put me up for adoption in a car crash
thas all i know
i gotta tell you...im a lil jealous
but GREAT read-thanks for sharing once again
