The OJ Simpson Murder Case: The L that never happened
So let’s take a step back in time to the year of 1994. June 13th of that year Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman were found fatally stabbed. On June 17th a low speed chase between OJ Simpson and the Orange County Sherriff’s department took place. Not only was it a “high speed chase” at 35mph but it also interrupted coverage of Game 5 of the NBA finals between the NY Knicks and the Houston Rockets(W)! During the chase, people were holding up signs encouraging OJ to escape. OJ proved to be a national hero to many. OJ’s trial single handedly launched the careers of all those involved: Johnny Cochran, F. Lee Bailey, Robert Shapiro, Robert Kardashian and of course Judge Lance Ito (W).
This case was a national event, capitalizing on the tensions between blacks and whites. The trial was a 134 day fully televised event. OJ beat DNA evidence, the infamous “bloody glove”, eyewitness accounts of abuse and switched up his story multiple times. Examples of DNA evidence: DNA showed that blood found at the scene of Brown’s murder was OJ Simpson’s. The odds it could have come from anyone but Simpson were reported to be about one in 170 million. (W)

Yeah OJ got caught for stealing his shit back in Vegas….but damnitt you would’ve done it too! Think about it, if you just beat the most publicized trial in American history as a BLACK MAN. How many people do you think would try to rip you off for retribution. OJ is better off in jail because he is no longer a threat to society. He is no longer the butt of jokes. He no longer has to dodge ppl’s stares. He doesn’t have to worry about getting sued because he can’t control his finances. He no longer has to live a life amongst ppl that pre judge him.
