Weren't air jordans worn on the court??? Aren't they a staple in NBA all over??? How much more on the court can you get??? It's not like jordans was a tech investment or something it ties in to his profession.... this what people may don't get... Even nas do not like his career. The first half 10 years, he was fucked by the record labels, thats why he did another 10. He said in a interview he always wanted to be finished by now he did not expect to be in this position once his daughter was grown..
The thing is he became a bitter piece of the game. Rather than to become a boss, nas is too busy lying and playing ego games with other rappers. Nas is in his position by force.. On the other hand nelly always have a smile on his face, he seems more content with his career... even tho his music is the total opposite of nas, nelly feels like he accomplished alot.
When it comes down to careers you want to be fulfilled more than longevity.. If your in the game for 20 odd years but you become a bitter lying grumpy hateful stumbling block to new talent, you are a destruction more than positive role model. even tho nas portray to be positive in his music, its all fake.. He only went that way because his image was exposed when he was trying to be ESCOBAR.
For the people who feel this is better than not being on at all. It really is not a better state of mind. Its a slave career, and some people rather not be on at all than be a 20 year slave.. Thats what happen to some of the older rappers that caught up in those slave deals they were giving. You got to be wise what type of deal you take, thats why some people are not on.. You can't jump on anytype of deal, because you will wind up with a MISERABLE career. Despise what type of music you make, a GOOD career makes a GOOD DEAL, and nelly got the better MUSIC DEAL. Whatever he do with his money is on him.. but nas got a fork in his deal. Even he isnt content thats why he's always blaming his state of discontent on the ERA of "hiphop"..
A wise decision for any one that has talent, don't jump on the wrong deal just for the television fame, it isnt worth it. U better off unsigned.
