Lol this is the most overhyped album in years. It's a 3.5/5 at best. It's a great hiphop album in 2012, but it's nowhere near classic. All the Nas stans are quick to scream "Classic" but in reality, it's not.

There's really not ONE good hook by Nas on the entire album, and I DARE anyone to challenge this. The only decent one is on Daughters. Rick Ross has an ok verse but sounds way out of place on the album. The Mary J track is ok, but like it's been stated, 1000 other people have rapped over this beat before.

There's alot of good tracks but there's also alot of filler. The bonus tracks are good but only upon the first 4-5 listens, then they have zero replay value.

Also, Nas' flow is the SAME on freaking every song just about. It's like Jadakiss 2.0, but imo Jadakiss makes things more entertaining.

In the end, it's not better then Recovery, Watch the Throne, or any top album by a top 5 GOAT released in the past few years. It IS however, Nas' best album since God's Son.

Life is Good>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Watch the throne ( I only liked only a few songs and Kanye was garbage and Jay was meh) Nas was in rare form.

GTFO with this bullshit. Recovery better than a Nas album? psh, no way in hell. jadakiss 2.0? and he makes things more entertaining? no way in hell that's true.

the only thing I can agree on is people being too quick to claim this is classic.

Funny how several of you claim WTT is better than this, yet when WTT dropped you were all crying about how wack that was.

Where's The Love - 4.5 MICS

Easily 4-4.5 MICS from 1st listen. Strong Production and Lyricism, The Features are good to. 1st Saleem went in on this as well as No I.D. I loved this album instantly. NaS sound continues to mature and evolve. He's about to be 40 and this album is more instrumental and jazz influenced. I love the live instrumentation. The album has themes of Love, Life, Wealth, success and failure. These aren't just a collection of songs, it's very cohesive. The Storytelling, The Lyrics, The Beats. On his 10th LP, NaS reminds all of us rap fans why he's clearly One of the Greatest ever. So Yes NaS, Life is Good but Rap is even Better with you still rapping.

CHUUUUCH!!

you calling an album with 8 dope cuts average? ok.

On track 9, and so far it's mehhhh...

I see son biting Nelly with that Miles Jaye sample, regardless son is bringing his A game when it comes to the lyrics but the production so far is disappointing...

Seems you wack niggas would rather a generic mmg beat then some real layered instrumentation and genuine genre bending from jazz to classical with a 90's feel. This is for real lovers of music stuck in the 90's.

This album is a modern day Hip-Hop Classic, to me this is Nas version of The Blueprint. Mainly from a production standpoint but with a mixture of the kid who would write pass the margin, the flashy mafioso don, the lyrical poet who climbed out of that grave, and the man who has suffered pain but turned it into heartfelt melody to share with the world. Just like when MBDTF came out it's head and shoulders above anything that's out in this day and age, it may be his best overall album since IWW. And that's saying a lot cause Stillmatic, The Lost Tapes, and Untitled/Nigger are consider classics in there own right. God Son and I Am are also good albums.

yeah ...when an album is 14 tracks long that means either 6 of those other songs are just flat out wack ...or mediocre .....shit thats damn near half the album bruh.... 8 dope 6 wack or mediocre is average in my book i dont really see whats controversial ...

Dead ass... Otis, Gotta Have It, Murder to Excellence, Primetime and The Joy. I wasn't feeling the rest of that shit.

yeah nah bruh .... welcome to the jungle ... made in america ...new day ... really shit on alot of the joints feat on this nas record ...i think your buggin ...but its all subjective so hey..........

Well shit, if that's the case Nasir should sign to MMG....and I don't know if god son owe his life to Saleem Remi or some shit but if I was him, I'd stop fucking with that wack dude. For the past decade Nas' lyrics never meshed well with the weak production which was always my biggest complaint. I'm a product of the 90's and I'm not trying to hear the 2012 Nas spitting on ATCQ beats. How many times was that Nas/Mary J track on this album been recycled??? Once again, dope lyrics, wack production....

The fact that he's spitting on ATCQ beats (or real music) is exactly why i like this album. MJ song is dope enough to be remade as many times as niggas wanna make it over as long as it's done well. If summer on smash is the weakest track then Nas is doing something right.

SMH, i hurt your feelings. That's the only song you gonna go in on? One as song doesn't take away from my statement. I mentioned MMG because that's the type of beats everybody rhyming on these days.
