NAS "Life Is Good" (Official discussion thread) Release date 07/17/12

Confirmed:

J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League produced a track on the album. Apparently, the first track played at last night's listening session was the J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League joint. Although Nas was reprotedly tight lipped about producers and song titles, the J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League tag gave it away according to those in attendance. It's said to sound like an intro track.

i had a feeling this was gonna be an epic and personal album from nas. not sure about a damn khaled feature tho

Khaled ain't a feature.

By the way, they're mastering the album now and doing all the last tweaks. I think the final product has to be turned in Monday. Nas still ain't all the way sure about a couple songs to put on and leave off. I hope AZ makes the cut. The Ross track pretty sure it will. And the joint with Swizz & Miguel.. other than that I don't think we'll be seeing any features.

I do know he pretty much scrapped the project he said was almost finished last summer around the time he did the free NYC show. The records with Tyler, Frank, Hodgy won't be on there but that's still Nas material nonetheless. As well as the countless other collabos with artists and producers he's worked with. We gotta get a Lost Tapes 2 man.. I would hope they would drop it around the end of the year like they did the first one 10 years ago. I don't want a mixtape, I want a physical album to add to the collection. I swear to God somebody has to have finished versions of tracks like Colours, The Scientist, and other shit we've never heard before.

Premier talkin bout after Life is Good is done him and Nas are gonna start working on an album tentatively titled Finally.

how you know all this?

Very Bold Prediction:

Nas could go Platinum with this album.

The next single should be a banger and he's still slated to be on MMG's album.

If this album sits well with his current fanbase, he'll continue to sell throughout the summer.

Now honestly - I'd be satisfied if this Album is on par with Hip Hop is Dead.

Nas is about the last 90's artist thats still youthful enough to dwell within the newer circle of hip hop. He's also respected enough to get a collab with most artist in GOOD, and even Jay-Z.

The HHID and HHIA era really hurt him branch out too many up and comers. Now, he can still collab with the Kendricks or the ASAP's, the Coles and Wale for the next couple of summers.

NO I.D knows what he's doing

Information from interviews and things of that nature since the inception of the Life is Good project. I've been paying attention. I made this thread 12 minutes after Nas announced he was gonna be doing Life is Good at 3 AM last May. I'm on it breh. Esco is big homie.

Nas was on 106 & Park yesterday, he performed Daughters. And they used two Nas beats (Thief's Theme and Made You Look) for Freestyle Friday.

I don't see plat. If he can do 150k-200k first week, #1 on the charts and reach gold by the end of the year that would be wonderful to me. Def Jam and his management team have done a great job.

Def Jam might have earned a new contract with Nas after this album depending how he performs commercially. Either way he's gonna be a free agent after this. I wouldn't be mad at independent if he does it right.
