Yo this album is much better then what I expected. What makes me like it so much after the 1st listen is the fact that its so fresh. Its vintage Nas but at the same time its a brand new Nas. The production is fresh as fuck. Im not sure how I rate the album yet but I feel like its gonna be Top 4 Nas album for me. It goes, Illmatic, It was Written, Stillmatic, and then Life is Good, but Life is Good and Stillmatic might switch positions after some time passed by. I would go as far as too say that this album would be a classic if it ages well but Summer on Smash is stopping me from making that claim. I give it a 4.75/5.

My bad for flooding the thread by the way, but what better way to get my post count up then discussing a Nas album.

My order of favorite Nas albums go:

Illmatic

The Lost Tapes

It Was Written

Stillmatic

Untitled

I Am...

God's Son

Hip Hop is Dead

Street's Disciple

Nastradamus

We'll see where Life Is Good ranks for me.

Nas 's Albums for me

1. It was written : I just can listen to this album more than Illmatic imo

2. Illmatic; The prophet's debut took control of the rap game

3. Stillmatic : after being counted out Nas's Return to the top from 2 non stellar albums

4. Life is Good : He confirms His status as one of the greatest yet blends in with the times

5. God's Son : more Spiritual album, given after his mom's passing but great follow up to stillmatic

6. Untitled : Open's america's eyes at a time when the future leader was gone be half black and educated cats on the nigga aspects

Easily 4-4.5 MICS from 1st listen. Strong Production and Lyricism, The Features are good to. 1st Saleem went in on this as well as No I.D. I loved this album instantly. NaS sound continues to mature and evolve. He's about to be 40 and this album is more instrumental and jazz influenced. I love the live instrumentation. The album has themes of Love, Life, Wealth, success and failure. These aren't just a collection of songs, it's very cohesive. The Storytelling, The Lyrics, The Beats. On his 10th LP, NaS reminds all of us rap fans why he's clearly One of the Greatest ever. So Yes NaS, Life is Good but Rap is even Better with you still rapping.

I need to wait until I'm able to play it in the whip to give a full review, but I'd say so far it's album of the year. With Krit right behind him. Let's see if they can stay for the rest of the year.

Half way through, Good God, he's goin in. Wow 21 years after "Live at the BBQ" and Esco still dropping heat. Don't even fix your mouth to compare some of these emcees today to NaS, they ain't on his level. Jay for that matter also. As a child of the 80's and teen of the 90's, I'm proud of the Legends still doing it like NaS. Review coming:

but bruh ....its only been out for 3 hrs and its a classic? word.....that aint even long enough to watch goodfellas

qtipp73 catching mad feelings. He got the same kind of mentality niggas had when Street's Disciple first leaked, so eager to see Nas succeed these impatient cats were passing out 5 mics left and right calling it an instant classic.

Relax, some of us like to let this shit marinate. Art is something to reflect on and appreciate, not to just flip out on with whatever knee-jerk gut reaction you have the first time you hit the play button and when you already overwhelmed with anticipation.

Anyways, on first few spins from last night to this morning I can say this ablum is VERY good and is only getting better with subsequent listens.
