Dis jawn might end up being as significant as "I Can" considering it has meaning. I've spk to alotta dudes who like myself have a daughter & totally relate to da song.

I love the song, but is it going to get any radio play?!?

I have heard The Don 3 times- and they were all mid-Saturday spins on HOT 97.

Out here in Cali, it's like Nas don't even exist right now. Def Jam hasn't been playin' that payola game much lately for God's Son... smh...

I think it can get airplay but out of all the singles it seem "The Don" has the most radio potenial. A song like "Daughters" goes again all the weak shit and message-less shit that the radio be pushing. Consious hip hop has systemaically been takin off the radio. Props to NaS anyway. As for the video, as long as Destiny is in it, it might turn out cool:

NaS post another behind the scene photo, it's amazing this is the most active NaS has been on social networking his whole career. He's really reaching out to his fans.

I agree with this, but as I have said, I just haven't heard it anywhere. Has it not been added into rotation as a single yet or what?

As for "Daughters" I don't expect it to be a giant hit, but females may feel this track enough to request it. I know that a lot of dudes will be feelin' this track on a personal level, but they won't be the ones phoning in to hear it on radio...

It has been ten years since Nas was played on the radio in my area (they ain't played shit since "I Can"). It would be nice if his artistic quality would be recognized just for a couple months while the hype for the album builds.

All I wish for is a little balance.

@the_focused_one NaS is anti-radio ..

This is very true, if you look at NaS's single history, he rarely puts out a Radio Banger as a single. This is NaS's biggest weakness as far as his skill set. I'm not saying NaS never made a club banger cause he has but it's like he does it just to do it, he never wants to do it. I'm fine with "Daughters" being a single and video cause we need more songs about Black Parenthood. Will did an amazing job with "Just the Two of Us":

Nas is in a class by himself! He NEEDS NO RADIO BANGER to put hip hop into its proper perspective. Nas is a FUCKING LEGEND! Nas knows exactly who he is as an artist and he has proven that he doesn't need radio to sell millions of albums worldwide. That is what makes him special!

I understand that. NAS is the GOAT. The muthafucka is in my avi LMAO. I just wish I wasn't the one who always had to put people up on Nas in my area.

I'll be talking to some people and be like "Aye you catch the new Nas video for The Don?" And dudes be like "What?! Nas comin' back?! I didn't even know about that shit!" But when a new Drake or Weezy song comes out, they be knowing about it first thing cause it gets mad radio play and bump in the clubs...

Maybe I'm just being hella nostalgic, but it used to be dope when some fire came out, hit the radio, and everybody was up on it. The fragmentation of the hip hop fanbase through the internet has been a blessing and a curse...

At this point in his career I just want an above average album with strong production. Which we haven't got since God Son or Stillmatic. He's a Gold artist Tops now! I think if the Video is done well it could get the most air play for a single since "I Can".

Hip Hop is Dead had great production IMO... Outside of a couple of tracks like Who Killed It, I'm Not Going Back, and Hope being acapella, most of the beats were on point. I don't understand the knock that album gets production wise...

Add Play on Playa, Blunt Ashes, Hold down the Block, Carry on Tradition are below average or just plain boring beats.

I can agree Blunt Ashes and Carry on Tradition were not spectacular, but I didn't think Hold Down the Block and Play on Playa were bad... Maybe I'm just being biased cause Nas ripped those songs and I paid more attention to him... Which happens a lot on his tracks...

Hold down the block maybe. Playa on Playa was just awful & lazy. Scott Storch stole money on that one.

"worst fight when we brought my baby home the first night, cursed like sailors"

-NAS "WAR"

They got off to a bad start.

Songs is cool IMO

@Agrv u cant possibly be that simple. I think a video is gonna put too much attention towards destiny, I have co-workers who were unaware of destiny condom pics,etc...now this? Of course you want a video for a single but I think he should pass on this one....who knows maybe all is forgivin & him & destiny in the video chillin...

It doesn't have to be about Nas and his Destiny. It could just feature different people and their daughters. The song is supposed to be about daughters in general, not just Destiny. Nas shares his experiences with his on the song so that others can relate, but it's not just about Destiny in particular. That's why at the start he says "This is for niggas with daughters".

Lol she made money bragging about spreading her vagina over the hip hop industry in a book

'daughters' is the least of destinys problems

Anyways cool song, nice to see rapper show his vulnerable side

LOL @ "Hip Hop Helen of Troy", I can't believe this chick is fixing her mouth to say anything about NaS. I'm sure her daughter learned a lot about messing around with multi rappers and bball players.

Bitch did nas dirty....she was sprung off iverson
