We had an altercation in the first 2 weeks of class, another one last week....she doesn't like me. I'm completely & utterly distraught at how bad this situation is right now. She's the last person I'd choose to have mercy or pity on me.

3.9 @ community college. 4.0 @ freshman fall at UM. 4.0 @ freshman spring at UM. 4.0 @ sophomore fall at Howard.

Some professors are like that. They make no exceptions but most aren't. If they see you've been putting the time on, in and coming to class and doing your work most let you make it up for atleast a lesser grade.

I got 100% in a lab exam that was one of craziest tests I've ever taken. But I showed up late and I got a 90% just because my professor was a hardass.

Tell her and you r Dean the truth. Bring your transcripts and everything to back up your arguments. Ask if she could atleast grade give you half credit on the assignment meaning if it was "A" quality work then maybe you could receive a "B".

My advice that because you have such a great track record and that your 1st student/teacher issues is with a class that isn't even in your major, maybe they will look out for your. The last thing you want to do is lie. If that doesn't work ask the Dean if their are any other scholarships that you qualify for.

Don't take this the wrong way, but a few things seem to match up. Reading between the lines it doesn't seem as if you take this class as serious as the others. (I get it, it's speech). Add to that the fact that people who teach these classes (speech, lower level math and english classes, etc) already have an inferiority complex and feel the need to play harder to gain "respect" from the students. And combine that with her age (mid twenties, probably fresh out of grad school herself), and needing to "prove herself" may lead to you being fucked.

Show all your transcripts to the dean, plead your case and come up with some "I've seen the error of my ways and I will never do this again" if it will help.
