We gotta get our mental focus back after all those years of being discriminated against and imprisoned FOR doing exactly what u asking us to do. U think cats in the 1920s,30s,40s,etc. wasn't doing that? After slavery ended, we had successful businesses. We had strong communities and shit. But guess what happened? The government took all that shit. Created laws to fuck niggas over so they had to start over. So what did they do? They went underground to get money. I read stories of black businessmen getting their white friends to purchase homes and shit for them in the mid 1900s cause they weren't allowed too.

Now with said, it is time to get focused. And I think we can do it after this current economy is destroyed and reestablished.

i think we should be brought up and taught how to live in the world not just survive. so many people dont think they can make it to be in a better position that theyre in and that did come from alot of mental slavery that some people dont even realize theyre in

some people dont want to think this way though. some people are cool living in the moment..smoking..drinking..getting hoodrats pregnant. Some hoodrats are cool with being hoodrats and some other people just dont have that drive to get better. there are some people who say fuck it i wont be wealthy anyway and let that mentality hold them down.

like hommie said above......its gonna take a long ass time

That shit aint never gonna happen.Too much nigger mentality in the soul of american black youth. You need to take care of your kids first before you do anything..80 percent of black familes are fatherless.Fix that number bring it down to something like 60 and then you can move up.

The problem is there are way too many complainers and not enough DOers. If 1 out of 10 black males "make it", why doesn't that 1 go back and get the other 9. If you can't save them or at least provide some sort of support/opportunity (honestly, in most cases you can't), why not try to reach out to their children while they're still young and impressionable? If they don't know ish, what can they teach their kids?...and the cycle continues. Too many "wonderful" black people walking around with their nose in the air as if it's "the bad blacks' " problem, when in reality, it's all of our problem....whether you live in South Hampton Long Island or Marcy Projects in Brooklyn.

Folks are way too selfish not realizing that they're not in this world alone. Until people start actually caring (and not JUST complaining), nothing will ever change.

I feel you. When u care about what other people do u hear stuff like "Why u worried about what they doing blah blah". So it's hard to help people out sometimes.

I agree. BUT, when you have a purpose, what other people say shouldn't matter. Honestly, the ones who talk the most usually do nothing else. If Harriet Tubman listened to the people who told her "why you going back...you free, eff them other niggas"...

You can help kids if possible but not grown ass people(especially men). Its not the same thing...ignorant minded black youth vs slavery.

Yeah, I agree to a degree. I actually said that in my first response. Call me naive, but I think most people want to change, but just don't have the courage/know how to start. Nobody's in their corner cheering them on...cause they're surrounded by people who are just like them. Their vision is limited...they've been losing their entire life. In their head, they're already beaten and the race didn't even start yet. smh.

That's why no matter how much money and experiences I gather now that I'm on the "other side", I'll never be completely fulfilled until I have served my purpose. Somebody gave me a chance, who am I to not offer the same chance to others. I'll let them make their own decision.

Sorry for the rant, LOL! I'm just passionate about this topic.

The mentality of black folks definitely has to change. A lot of are quick to complain about the situations we're in. Yet, don't wanna put the effort in changing. It's the whole "defeated" mentality. Like "guess I won't be gettin outta the hood no time soon. Oh well, guess I'm stuck here" kind of mentality.

"If I could have convinced more slaves that they were slaves, I could have freed thousands more."
- Harriet Tubman

This is a sad truth.

Here's another problem not just within the Black Community but with Humans in general. The "Savior" complex. Some else other than self has to rise up and fix us for us.

Why you didn't say "I'm going to be the modern Harriet Tubman"?

Some people need a little nudge. Everybody can't see greatness inside of them because they were taught all of their lives that they'll never be anything etc etc etc. Sometimes all people need is 1 person to help them see what they don't. I don't see anything wrong with paying it forward and helping people who genuinely need help. Should you do EVERYTHING for them? NO. But don't just turn your back on someone just because they're mentally beaten.

Black people shouldn't get the impression that we've conquered athletics. There are only a few, perhaps handful of majority owners that are black. The only one I remember is Jordan, but that was way back when.

Farrakhan broke this shit down even. Go to 8:13 of the video. Or learn something and watch the whole thing, as well as the other parts even.
