she said that she likes intelligent men with common sense and obviously him financing a car for 72 months at 9.5% meant he had neither, so she dropped him

But nah I always say if I can't afford to put a minimum deposit of 50% down I won't cop.

Depends.

I could understand getting a brand new car with that kind of deal, especially if it's a quality vehicle. Coupled with a good warranty as well. Proper care and maintenance you could get 10 years out of vehicle easily. Some hiccups here and there, but over all a good investment. His plan could be an indication of a stable credit history. 9.5% is somewhat decent, it could be much worst with a 13% or 16% deal. With other things on his plate, perhaps he is using that to lower his note to help with his budget. Maybe he just doesn't buy cars that often, preferring to just have some form of transportation. Doubling up on his note here and there when able. Allowing him to pay it off early.

I'm just saying, dude could of had it thought out and planned.

What about when it comes to buying your cribs? Do take the same viewpoint on this too?

I completely understand the logic, however I think if I'm able to make a 50% cash deposit and then pay the remaining 50% with relative ease I'm happy. Especially when I will be looking to get my own house soon, I need my credit history to jump up a notch.

nah, i don't think anyone is buying a desirable property straight cash in 2011. and in order to get a good mortgage you're better off with a good credit history.

that's not bad.

when i got my first car, i had to take at a 60 month loan because that's all I was offerred. i payed that shit off in about 2 years and kept it movin'.

maybe the dude had bad credit and that's the only loan he could get. either way she ain't payin for it so i can't call it.

9 Months to my knowledge

If this was the first time he did something like this, she should cut him some slack.

But you said she likes intelligent men with common sense. I don't see how it took 9 months to realise he had neither in her eyes

that does sound like a terrible decision though. 9.5 for 6 years is awful. his credit wasnt what was happening, but if she feel like that, this was inevitable, cause if his credit is only letting him get 9.5, then he already had some problems

Smh at your cousin for breaking with dude who is obviously making moves. But his credit score must be mid to low 500s cause mine is 620 ish and I'm allowed 12.5
