Had the pleasure & honor to meet him when I was a little boy.

First thing noticed was the size of his knuckles and the scarring.

Rest in Power.....Ali boom-by-ye!!

I had to be about 14 or 15 years old. But I remember this one afternoon my mom called me.

She told me not to do anything cuz we going to grandma church. I'm fussing how I don't wanna go and she says, "Well I guess you don't wanna see Muhammad Ali then."

I'm like you gotta be kidding me. Yea hurry up and pick me up right now.

Around 2003 Jennifer Granholm was running for Governor of Michigan and Ali was endorsing her. Granholm was gonna be at my grandma church speaking and Ali was gonna be a guest on her behalf.

My grandma church was so packed that myself, my sisters, cousins, uncle, mom and grandma had to sit on the 2nd floor balcony.

As the MC was speaking suddenly she stopped and everyone turned around and stood up. Finally you here constant chants of "Ali! Ali! Ali!" from the congregation.

There he was Ali getting helped down the aisle walking to the pulpit to take his seat. I was taking pictures on my old flip phone camera and shouting Ali as well.

He get's helped to his seat and the Ali chants get louder. Ali being the ultimate showman gets up with no help and starts to shadow box.

The entire congregation went into a frenzy and he walks to the podium by himself. The congregation was so quiet you could here a pin drop as they were anticipating the greatest of all time speak. Ali says with a soft voice, "I'm still the greatest and I'm still pretty."

The congregation laughed and then went back to chanting Ali as he walked slowly back to his seat with no help.

One of the greatest moments of my life was being there to see the champ.

Thank you Mr Ali for your bravery and allowing your light to shine and change the world and open doors for many African Americans to succeed in this crazy game we call life.

#RIP

This one right here hurts. Even with the disease he was still one of those people you thought would live forever. I'm from Louisville, ya'll think ya'll hurt by this news, mane ride through this city right now.

R.I.P. to the GOAT

I remember as a kid, my family lived for a short time in Berrien Springs, MI, at the same time Ali did. We used to always hear people talking about how 'you just missed Mohammad Ali', but we never got the chance to meet him in person. Sucks because he was always one of the few people I really considered a hero and wanted to meet in life, even still as an adult.

The GOATs

And I'm not ashamed to admit,if anything tragic were happen to Mike...I'll....have a......moment.
