Ex-Fox News Reporter Claims Network Blocked Her From Investigating Trump/Russia Links

While providing testimony before Britain’s Competition & Markets Authority on Monday, former Fox News Radio correspondent Jessica Golloher claimed that she was blocked from going to Russia to look into possible links between President Donald Trump and Russia.

“You can’t do in-depth reporting if you’re not there,” Golloher said at a Parliament gathering, according to Bloomberg News. “Fox didn’t let me go to Moscow to dig into Trump’s Russian connections, even when I offered to pay my own way.”

She added, “Fox is just buying what the White House is selling.”

Golloher was one of a number of former Fox News employees who offered up testimony against the news network as Fox attempts to take over Sky. Opponents of the deal are hoping to block it over a number of complaints with Fox News, namely sexual misconduct allegations and accusations of biased news coverage.

It would appear that it isn’t just former employees who are slamming the way Fox News has handled the Trump/Russia story. It was reported last month by CNN Money that current FNC employees are “embarrassed and humiliated by their network’s coverage of the latest revelations in special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian election meddling.” And earlier this year, Fox News was accused of colluding with the White House on the Seth Rich conspiracy story that Fox News eventually retracted.

Regarding Golloher’s claims, Fox News told Bloomberg that they “are without merit” and her “allegations of discrimination and retaliation are baseless.”

WSJ: Mueller’s Team Investigating Kushner’s Contact With Foreign Leaders

Investigators working for Robert Mueller, the special counsel probing Russian interference in the 2016 election, are looking into contacts between White House adviser and President Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner and foreign heads of state, the Wall Street Journal reported late Tuesday.

The Wall Street Journal reported, citing unnamed sources familiar with the matter, that Mueller’s investigators have questioned witnesses about Kushner’s involvement in a United Nations resolution condemning Israel’s settlements in disputed territories.

A day before the United Nations security council unanimously passed the resolution, Trump said it “should be vetoed.”

The Wall Street Journal reported that Kushner and Trump’s former chief adviser Steve Bannon were both involved in Israeli officials’ outreach to Trump’s administration regarding the resolution.

Investigators are also making inquiries about Kushner’s meeting in December 2016 with Sergey Gorkov, the head of a Russian state-owned bank that has deep connections to Russia’s intelligence agency, according to the report. The United States added the bank in question, Vnesheconombank, to its list of sanctioned entities in 2014.

As the Wall Street Journal noted, it was not immediately clear why Mueller’s investigators are looking into the matter, and such questions “don’t necessarily indicate suspicion.”

Flynn Charged With Making False Statements About Russia Contacts

Special Counsel Robert Mueller filed court documents Thursday indicating that he was bringing charges against former National Security Advisor Mike Flynn for lying to FBI agents about his Russian contacts.

The information charges Flynn with one count of making a false statement.

Flynn was fired from the White House in February for obscuring those contacts with Russians during the campaign, and has been under scrutiny for other shady dealings. He is the fourth Trump associate to face charges in Mueller’s probe.

According to the court documents Flynn’s false statements included the claim that he did not talk to Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak about sanctions the Obama administration was imposing on Russia in late December. He also made a false statement about talking to Kislyak about a United Nations vote a week earlier.
