To anyone who actually really believed that all you needed to be successful is a college degree, let me ask you this very serious question:

Why did you believe that?

There is no surefire path to success in the United States.

Being an entrepreneur isn't going to guarantee you any success...

Going to college won't guarantee you any success...

Investing won't guarantee you any success...

There is no magic bullet and there are always going to be risks involved, it shouldn't discourage people from trying though.

The problem in America is that we keep being sold that _____ is how you become a happy, successful millionaire and then everyone tries to do it most end up in failure.

Folks have to stop believing in America and start believing in themselves. This country and it's institutions aren't going out of their way to help you, but they can be useful tools if you know how to use them.

This is the truest shit i heard in the thread. I knew this all along but i wanted to know what @mryounggun was going to say or if he was going to say anything at all because we all know black folks got this contagious disease of keeping everything to themselves and not helping out their brother.

Principal of my school just published an editorial on their site about the value of education and why students Shouldnt never second-guess their investment in college

I tried to take it seriously but it sounds so bogus coming from someone who is out a job if enrollment numbers decline

@CHICAGO_BREED‌ Ask and ya shall receive. There IS NO blueprint. We are fucking kids over by instilling in them that all you need to be successful is a college degree.

Let me try again, *clears throat* WHAT IS THE BLUEPRINT?

Adults tell children all the time to finish school, go to college and get a good paying job. Shit is not as simple that's for sure.

Right. But people's parents tell them this all the time that they don't believe or rebel against. So it's gotta be more than just 'Because that's what my momma said!'.

Y'all have to remember that the economy wasn't always like this. At one point going to college always got you ahead. Still does but it's not 100%.

na im not trolling. Since there is no blueprint i take it that you took your own advice and your living comfortable and happy, so how did you get to where your at? What was your blueprint or path?

@CHICAGO_BREED‌ First of all, I don't eem know what you mean by 'take your own advice'...since I haven't given any advice*shrugs*

Second off all...that's a very complicated question 'What did you do to get where you're* at?'. So complicated that it's very simple: Found 2 things I wanted to do and I worked hard and applied myself. Shit wasn't rocket science. Lol.

exactly. You haven't given any advice so why even make the statement you made in the beginning.

whats funny tho. whats funny is you making it seem like a rocket science question. its a simple question, What do you do and how did you get there? dont wanna hear the bolded.
