aye, we've got some minor upgrading goin on, starting today...shouldn't be anything majorly noticeable, but don't be surprised if y'all and/or posters are urged to update their passwords later today.

As far as I'm aware, the main difference(s) afterward will be in the Jailing options...

basically, a poster can be Warned up to 3 times...after 3 Warnings, the offending poster will be Jailed (stripped of the ability to start a thread, will only be able to post once every 2.5 minutes, no signature, and will have the bars over their avi). After reaching Warning Level 5, a temporary ban is automatically applied.

that ban will lift as the points drop off over time.

^^I'm still goin over erything, but methinks it's basically a way to streamline things...instead of having to knee-jerk reaction ban folks, we'll be able to use the Jail function more often, which will automatically ban over time if the offenses don't stop.

the ads will be for both desktop and mobile...I've already had somewhat of a preview for the last couple of weeks, and they're noticeable on both versions...they shouldn't be too invasive or anything crazy tho

Ya because I think one of the advantages of mobile at least on a iPhone is that the ads don't distract you from the boards, but we all know that the ads keep the lights on here also.

from what I've seen, they're similar to the ads that are on most Twitter apps...not quite the same, but a similar concept...I haven't seen the finished product yet tho.
