Ultimately I do wanna know what was the point in having people voice their issues with Maven only for the shit to look exactly the same? Did Chuck just say fuck the complaints of the people who would actially be the users of the site?

in a nutshell, ON PAPER, the complaints can be/have already been largely addressed. however, the appearance of the new site is off, from all of our points of view. I think it's because of the "Conversations," and told them so. I asked them about minimizing it, but was told they can't be removed.

Pretty much fuck the posters. @Stew had dope ideas for the site, but those were completely ignored.

both Sion's and Stew's ideas were looked at, and again on paper, the majority of them can/have already been addressed. however, no one likes the appearance of the new forums. faced with a choice, they preferred something familiar, hence Goldie's site. ppl have noticed I haven't had issues with Goldie or his site, just the posters being disrespectful.

on paper, the specs of the new site show continual growth, long term at that. there's good customization, and some of their other sites are pretty efficient. both Chuck and Greg are interested in that, hence the move to Maven.

...but Maven's never had a community like ours. and thanks to all this, we're definitely losing a lot of it : ( I've mentioned a few times, I'm not happy about all this. the IC will continue, but we're looking at a major change, as u all already know. expect new faces, a lot of missing faces, being able to do new shit on the new shit, current ppl signing up under aliases, etc.

and I don't harbor a grudge if u have an account on Goldie's site, and I know y'all all have shit u wanna get off ya chest. just keep it somewhat respectful.

This ain't no thread and if this is what we have to resort to for having a serious conversation about something....that shit ain't gonna ride.

This looks much more like a thread....i can't figure out how to make one on mobile

their "Stories" are our "threads"

the "Conversations" are just msgs. mini ADHD-threads, and they can't be removed.

think of them as posting on ppl's backpages, but erybody's able to see them.

we want more "Stories" made, and they're our threads. they can be pinned, moved, deleted, etc., just like any other thread.

working on this rn as well

Greg wants each of the mods (and myself) to create and stick, 2-3 Stories (NOT Conversations) on the new site. the more posters see how things are supposed to be run on here, the more threads they'll make themselves.

since the Vanilla version is no longer able to be posted on, ALL of the year end Award threads should go on the new IC.

Ill Pix is looking decent, but @blackrain @Tupacfan, y'all need to come with a few threads to sticky in Waiting To Exhale.

@MsSouthern I know you're still gettin over your illness, but when u can, we need 2-3 threads in the Powder Room asap-ly.

Lights, Camera, Action could use 1-2 new threads, but that should be one of the easier rooms to populate.

Reason, G&S, and Donkey mods, basically y'all just need to come up with like 1 thread apiece, and then sticky the best 3-4 out of those. the Award threads would count in this category.

both the Cheap Seats and the Battle Zone need 2-3 more fresh threads.

Quite Comical and OTTB need threads badly @KillaCham. the Arcade needs 2-3 as well.

I'm not tryna single anyone out, even if I @'d u. I'm gonna be adding my own threads as well, and anyone of us can make relevant threads in multiple sections, if you've got thread ideas.

of course, this is all temporary only.

the Moderators Room is gone on the new site, go ahead and post in "Internal," and no one else can see. and unlike on Vanilla, if anyone of us ever have a problem, posting in Internal will automatically alert Maven admin (instead of @'ing IcyLiquid for example, just posting a site problem in Internal will alert them to what's going on).

remember, make Stories for now, not Conversations.

Definitely not trying to be disrespectful and I wanna see the IC thrive long term too. Especially after a decade plus of being here...shit just seemed wrong to have everyone agree the layout was an issue only to have it remain the same.

if you're making a Story, don't be intimidated by the "Story Summary." it was the "Story Deck," and was 80 characters, but now it's the Story Summary, and I think reduced to 30 characters...

^^ easiest to just add a quick summary, or just paraphrase whatever the thread was gonna be about. if it's a news story, or something involving an interesting article, u can also just copy and past the first paragraph or so of the article itself.

normally this wouldn't be a problem, but it is now, due to everyone being asked to make a few threads...

if you're making a news type thread, u can copy the link from whatever source u got it from, and paste it, and go from there...that's what I did at first in my threads in the Social Lounge, but they were all Conversations, not Stories, smdh. anyway, it's easy to do, and avoids having to try to copy and paste entire articles nshit.

@ThatDamnJay I got you. I already made a story in The Arcade a couple days ago but I'll do a few more today. Site is super hard to navigate, tho..

Where yall at

You can only make threads on the Maven through a desktop. We just went back 15 years. Niggas is ghost.

I havent been using the Internet on my computer since 2014. 2015 on Ive been using my phone straight for everything. This is unbelievable tbh.
