I'll get subforums viewing in their parent forums. Let me tell you how I think it should work, using the reason as an example.

1. By default when you're looking at the Reason you also see posts from the The Essence and The Face off Forum interwoven in a similar fashion to "What's New."

2. At the top of the Reason it will list the names of its subforums. The Essence and The Face off will have stars beside them so you can follow/unfollow them. I'll have to think about the specifics of this, but this is the basic feature.

3. When posting a new topic to the Reason you'll have radio buttons to choose between The Reason, The Essence and The Face of Forum.

My reasoning for this is to allow you to create a new subforum, but promote it through its parent forum by having its posts show up there too. Then who knows, maybe The Essence or The Face off will get popular enough to move up underneath Musical Conversation one day.

I really don't like the way vBulletin showed the big table of subforums at the top of forums. I've always collapsed that big table rather than scroll past it every pageview.

We want to move towards you being able to follow/unfollow forums and then have your what's new page show you just posts from what you're following. This way you can look at all of the stuff you like or "go and hang out in a forum."

Toddo and Ice are my favourite people on the Net… you literally know what's up!!! Can't wait to see this put into action!!!

hey i just unbanned an account that was banned by ducky but the poster keeps getting "permission denied" error message

the account is northside7

i witnessed the exchange in donkey with ducky that made it happen. he's asked me a couple times now. im just trying to give it back to him. the unban was successful so why is he still denied?

lol at having mods that have plenty of Troll reactions smh wouldnt call that setting an example exactly.
Upon further review of the troll feature it appears someone just went down the line and marked all my posts in a thread as troll. then random posts for other threads only a few of my posts had more then 1 person marking it as troll a lot of those marked had awesomes and agrees also. Just pointing out the vicarious nature of it and the fact that because the number accumulates does not mean it comes from more then 1 person and thus a skewed perception is pushed based on that...

Genocide_cutter or psychothug, whatever he wants to call himself today is one of them that abuses that feature. I actually just left him a little warning on his page and wasn't going to bring it up here yet but wasn't aware others were having a problem with it. He def leaves a negative 'react' on every single one of my posts he can find lol.

northside7 should be okay now. He was put in the "Banned Users" role from the import. I need to do a mass-update to prevent that for other users. In the mean time just mention me and I'll come in and sort it out.

YEah I get it we all do not agree but sometimes damn kats need to let it breathe and reserve the labels for posts deserving them...

The abuse of the reaction buttons is something that we'll get sorted out. We've kind of anticipated abuse and have plans to deal with it, but this community is giving as a workout earlier than we thought ;)

We basically want to have a reputation associated with members. That will affect how much their reactions count for.

In terms of the counts on your profile we may have to come up with a different metric or the reputation will help out.

Anyway, bear with us on the points. They WILL give a good idea of a user's reputation once we've watched the community a bit more.

Honestly I like the system as it is my point was perspective and how some were not taking the extra time to click on the indiviual reactions and seeing what was reacted to before snapping to a judgement. Over time if used correctly the system will help to guage accurately how posters are presenting their points and relevance. But this early in the game anyone of us making assertions about others based on it should look at the individual posts and other reactions to the same posts. maybe there could be some type of checks and balance where other reaticions to the same posts temper against one another. Also if we could find some way to encourage more to use the reactions it would help make a more accurate picture..

Is there going to be a warning/infraction system implemented? I know every mod can't keep their eyes on every poster at one time so I think it'd be good to keep small note of who does what and how much trouble they cause.

Good idea

Also how long are we banning people for?

We have a warning system in our roadmap, but I'm not sure of a timeline right now. A temporary banning system is also on our roadmap and it will come before we implement warnings.

I have a question is there a way to see who gave you a reaction?
Good question you can see a breakdown of your reactions by clicking on the reaction category in your profile. But making reactions public would be nice kind of like public poll results. But before any Mods start addressing reactions we all need to start using them on posts we have read so as to set an example...
