We had a government shutdown in 2013, I wonder who the president was back then???

If I'm not mistaken the first one was so they could raise the debt ceiling and maintain America's perfect credit rating which they ended up losing because the Republicans wanted lower taxes and wanted to halt Obama from sustaining the U.S.

Trump is shutting down government because he wants the Democrats to pay for and approve his wall. If they do it they guarantee Trump a second term and there are Americans dumb enough to fall for it and Trump knows that.

The reasons for the two and the costs of each negate either of them even being comparable. If we're trying to say Obama was "incompetent" I strongly disagree as he was one of the best presidents in 25 years and his track record is proof.

That one wasn't due a president throwign a temper tantrum over building a wall that ultimately won't do shit for over a month causing folks to lose their homes and walk off their jobs for trying to have them work for free...but yeah 2013 was the exact same

all of the announced (and unannounced) candidates have baggage, just like any other election. I have 3 that I'm hoping do better, and expecting to learn more about them as well as some of the others, but I'm not gettin especially hyped until further along in the process.
