The original version of LA, LA that was over the NY, NY beat was better than NY, NY. But the version that got released as a video and appeared on CNN's album wasn't as good.

They tore that beat to shreds.

Never heard that shit, But I'm glad that U admitted that the released version of LA, LA was shitty. Yall can try to re-write history all y'all want, but Mobb deep and the east got shitted on heavily during that period and yall know it.

You speak only music or some street shit/over all?

LA, LA was weak. The only reason people gassed the song up is because of the song title. Niggas didn't even call the Dogg pound out in the song nor did they say anything relating to the east-west beef. crazy thing about it is the fact that New york, New york wasn't even a east coast diss record. It was made to pay homage to New york and showcase Kurupt's skills, the only reason Snoop and nem crushed the buildings was because the video shoot got shot up.

Cnn answered the record ny ny, it was a song comparison not fuel beef

I hear ya bruh, but the shit was still weak in my opinion. Plus the fact that Noreaga even admitted that Prodigy basically had to be coerced to even do the record and respond to Pac and the west after him and Havoc bragged for years that they were the only NY cats that responded when Pac, Westside connection and others were killin the east.

Nah the OG version of la la prodigy had a verse where he ripped pac apart n by name too but they erased the verse bc cnn was nervous with it being they first single if that verse came out prodigy would have crushed pacs legacy and biggie wasn't happy wit them making that. Puffy was trying to keep the beef off wax bc he knew he was lining up the hit

Man ole "woulda coulda shoulda, if only he woulda kicked that urban legend ether verse" ass nigga.

Foh

How you know he had a verse that woulda ripped somebody apart you was in the studio wit him? And lets pretend like you right and know what you talking about and he had that work....well ok, why didn't he recycle it when Hova was kickin his ball over the fence?

Emphatic Nosign!

The mixtape scene in New York made the entire West Coast look like a hick town with one record label. Mixtape DJs in New York were putting out mix tapes so fast that by the time an album in New York was released the material was old.

Doo Wop Tapes alone >>> Death Row's entire discography.

People on the West Coast were so slow they didn't even have mix tapes.

Then when you factor in S&S, Mr Cee, DJ Clue, Kid Capri, Action Pac, Silva Surfa and all the other mixtape DJs, Death Row couldn't compete.

What mixtape cooked more than Doggy style, All Eyes on me or the Chronic? Doo wop tapes huh? Pshhhhh

Smh@ this nigga

Nigga said doo wop tapes>>>>>>deathrow whole catalog....mane that's probably the silliest shit I've heard so far this year

Death row was heavy in places that had no culture of its own, and diddy had the whole east coast plus more if death row was so major they would still be relevant somehow, wen u look back they were just another good label with a good run like g unit, Mmg, rocafella cash money, but the thing about them is some way some how they're still relevant, diddy still doing his thing, Suge in jail pac dead snoop n Dre left, so how was a war won?

Puffy's relevant, Bad boy ain't been shit since Mase left and Puff threw Shyne under the bus after shooting up the club in '99. Death row had a way more dominant run than any of the labels u named including Bad boy.

And niggas need to stop speaking your everyone else. Just cause the 5 niggas you know and the next door coyotes in your hood didn't fuck with New York music don't mean no one else didn't

nah bruh I aint u, The truth is the truth. Roc-A-Fella wasn't even the biggest label in New york for most of it's run. Ruff Ryders was bigger than Roc-A-fella in the late 90's to 2000, then Murder inc was neck and neck with em from like 01-02. Roc wasn't New york's biggest label until after Blueprint and Cam's Take home with me dropped. Even after then, G-unit came and took that shine over until after the Roc broke up. Death row dominated from 92, until the beginning of 97 after Pac died and Suge went to jail. Every album was platinum plus. Nigga I love hip hop, I fuck wit all regions, and I speak the truth. Death row had the game in a chokehold in the early 90's to the mid 90's and thats the God's honest truth. Quit tryin to re-write history and as u say, get the fuck over it my nigga.

Stillmatic Freestyle was a dope diss and he didn't name names

Bruh...

He said "H to the Izzo, M to the Izzo" and called out every nigga in his crew by name, except he turned all their names into double entendres in a classic scheme that pretty much anticipated modern battle rap style.

So basically it was subliminal.

Rip the Freeway, shoot through Memphis with Money Bags

Stop in Philly, order cheese steaks and eat Beans fast

And bring it back up top, remove the fake king of New York

You show off, I count dough off when you sample my voice

I rule you, before, you used to rap like the Fu-Schnickens

Nas designed your Blueprint, who you kidding?

Is he H to the izz-O, M to the izz-O?

For shizzle you phony, the rapping version of Sisqo

How is that a subliminal? He's calling out his entire crew by name and even names his album.

Naw u jus full of shit and want us to allow you to re-write history, sorry playboy I remember when the shit went down I know the truth and so do you. Just deal with it.

No your argument is stupid, I love the West coast's music but that's all they really had so of course they gonna dominate their region.you just named a bunch of East Coast labels but could barely name much for the West that speaks volumes nigga

The fuck are you talkin about bruh??? Too short was bangin shit with no videos or radio play. That nigga had like 3 or 4 platinum albums in a row in the early to mid 90's. DJ quik was still droppin platinum shit, Spice 1 was droppin platinum shit, Ice cube was still one of the biggest rappers alive droppin platinum shit, The west was outselling the east 3 to 1 in the 90's. Quit trying to debunk niggas arguments and really read what I'm saying nigga. You trying to re-write history, we both know the truth.
