Image obtained the rights just before the start of the Toronto International Film Festival according to the L.A. Times.

The plot of the film centers around a college athlete who is on his way to winning a Heisman Trophy when he's diagnosed with a tumor near his heart.

Fifty lost 80 pounds to accurately portray the role he has described as a "passion" project for him.

"I had to discipline myself not to actually have myself be in the physical state to convey the energy I felt,” told the Associated Press back in February.
