Did hyphy ever make it out the Bay Area? Never heard anyone on that vibe over here.

Hated that shit personally lol.

That shit had a buzz throughout the west, it was niggas in sd, stockton, la, portland, etc. Going dumb. Plus KC and Detroit was fw the bay for a while, and hyphy influenced jerk music and that whole mustard sound. Plus, short, sobxrbe, nef, kamaiyah, lil b, e40, iamsu, etc. All have fanbases outside the bay

Well put

I never messed with it, but i respect them for getting their own sound and style and the creativity of it.

I feel i had to be living in the bay to really appreciate it, cause of the whole scene and shit. It's hard to be in nyc and try and vibe with hyphy when i don't have direct exposure to none of it. It would just be me driving down Broadway ghost riding the whip dancing on the roof of my car.

Won't work

Never heard it in the Chi

It didn’t blow up but I remember Kanye being on the Tell Me When To Go remix

Didn't blow to it's full potential, but I heard tell me when to go on 106 (host said keak da sheek, smh), my ghetto report card was #1 on the rap charts, and the pack was signed to Atlantic.

Plus, when I moved to la, I saw youngsters jerking to dlo and young curt, slow down was on the radio, sage was on the radio, iamsu was on the radio, function was on the radio, up was on the radio (like two years after it dropped and niggas thought it was a yg song), big tymin was on the radio, etc. The bay has had a lot of singles, but we need new artists dropping classic albums and getting promoted in a way that the rest of the country can fw it.
