Yeah, Mic Geronimo was one of those under the radar New York 90s MCs that didn't have enough to seperate from the pack but he definately got play on mixtapes. I mean, if you bought a mixtape anywhere between 94-97, chances are there was a Mic Geronimo song on the tape.

Shits Real

Time to Build feat DMX, Ja Rule and Jay Z (who would have thought that of the 4 MCs on the track, Mic Geronimo would be the unknown rapper 15 years later?)

Nothin Move But the Money (Produced by Puffy)

Honestly, I don't think he was as skilled as the top tier mid 90s MCs (Pac, Nas, Big, Wu Tang) but he was good. I think he messed up when he jumped on the bandwagon and got Puff Daddy to produce Nothin Move But the Money and wore a shiney suit in the video. That may have been his biggest mistake.

^^^^^

you right. at the time i thought intelligent hoodlum, mic geronimo and nas were all equal. intelligent had the knowledge, but not the voice or flow (compared to the other two). mic had the voice and flow, but not the knowledge. nas had the full package, but i always wonder if geronimo had a better team around him what woulda happened. rap is a tough game, cuz he nice to me. at least the songs i posted plus the ones u mentioned.

but damn i remember when ppl were saying mic or nas i took mic

then i remember ppl saying black moon vs. mobb deep, i took black moon

then niggas said wu tang vs bootcamp, i took bootcamp

damn i was 0-3

props to everyone who remember this nigga

Damn, making a nigga reminisce. I think I was like 9 or 10 when he was doing his thing. Dude was nice, as a youngin in Ky I felt like an alien because I was in to mostly east-coast rap. While my peers was listening to Rap-A-Lot, No Limit and Deathrow artist. I was getting Rakim, LL, Meth and Red, Black Rob albums. I still got that Camron "Confessions of Fire" album on cassette. Smh, and I thought Cardan had next.

Natural was truly outstanding debut. It was grimey, hardcore, New York street shit . Ja Rule, Jay-Z & DMX debuted here. Then Mic got involved with Puff and made solid, but more pop-oriented Vendetta. I swear this nigga Puff is cursed, cause Mic disappeared since then and never came back with anything valuable.

This one hits home for me. I'm from Queens and ur right there was a time when people had Mic and Nas on the same tier. The first album was a personal classic to me. The second album was solid but you guys are right, the shiny suit shit was def not his lane.

I remember him. Saw a video of his years back but didn't really get a full grasp of his music ..

Might do some research on his shit.

I still love that NY gritty sound. I'm listening to NYG'z debut album currently produced by DJ Premier

Here's something ya'll might not remember. Ja Rule was part of a group called the Ca$h Money Click. They released a song in 1994 called ""4 My Click" feat Mic Geronimo. And there was a song on the other side of the single called "Get Tha Fortune". Here's the videos. You can see a young Irv Gotti in the "4 My Click" video.

Interesting didn't even know the buzz Mic had back than, first time I heard of him when MTVJams was doing Bad Boy Videos and the "Nothing move, but the money" record came on. I thought he was Bad Boy when I first saw it.
