I got folks in London. They say it was someone's fridge exploding that started it. Bullet points

None of the Fire alarms were working

Highly flammable cladding and poor building management

Signs/Instructions on walls to tell people to stay put

Water points for the fire brigade that surround building inoperable, nigga had to set up down the block and extend the hose. I've been watching this shit live all night. A mama had to throw her baby from the 6th floor into the crowd, nigga caught him.

They better figure out quick how that fire started...that is crazy. So many ppl was probably trapped by time they even realize it was a fire. Sad

Because of the cladding they used in the building, shit was enveloped in 10-15 minutes. Hot shit catches fire quicker, and that cladding is super flammable. The people knew for years shit was a fire hazard, but they just put up some ratchet signs instead

Also, no sprinkler system installed through the building.

alot of solar panels on those homes around the building.

theres a joke in there but its too early.

RIP to those people....i think they said 74 at this point

Bruv shit is bad man I kno' niggas in that block. Started on the 3rd floor about 12/1am

There was a woman on like the 10th floor who threw her baby outta the window. Luckily some dude caught it.

I lived in a block just like that, when we had a fire we just stood by the window askin' if we'd make ithe jump

maybe its the american in me....but the whole time i was watching this...

i was wondering.....no one thought to get a few blankets, triple them up and get a group to hold the reinforced blankets above their head so the people had a place to jump and land?

roll them off then on to the next person?

at least more lives could be saved.

I know a lot of tall buildings in the UK have a "stay put" policy in the event of a fire. They try to rely on Fire doors and extraction systems. Clearly failed this time.

Some horrifying footage coming through. People begging for help in the windows. Not long later those rooms engulfed in flames.

Yeah i've read people had footage of folks jumping out of the higher level windows instead of burning to death. Shit is scary and sad af.

Of course, comments all over FB talking about needing to get rid of muslims smh.

Just found out an old "friend" of mine lived on the 19th floor of that building and their current status is missing.

Praying for her and her ma deeply :(

On a somewhat more positive note.... ive spent the better part of 12 hours taking calls from people that want to offer their assistance.

people offering donations in the form of food, clothes, bedding, money

people offering their time to help volunteer

people offering their houses, spare rooms, sofas for those that have lost their homes.

Not just in the borough, not even just in london, all around england.

Ive never seem people come together like that to help the unfortunate.

slightly restored my faith in humanity
