A radical idea; one that might work if this country had a smaller, smarter population.

The way forward is implementing some form of restrictive gun control, avoiding taking on guns altogether (second amendment roadblocks) and instead focusing heavily on the release of bullets.

I haven't bought a gun before, but I assume that bullets are readily available for purchase once the gun is received?

We could restrict their dissemination. For example...prohibiting gun stores from selling bullets at all, having them packaged in tightly controlled centralized locations.

Alternately, we could run stringent checks (mental health physicals included) on anyone who buys a packet of bullets with their weapons.

I would attack the actual source of harm (one that isn't defined so clearly in the holier than thou second amendment)
