First of all, eff you for making this thread, b/c I was thinking about making this last night; and told myself to remember to do it today. And that thought came to me when I was playing some music off Masquerade on my iPod.
Secondly, the funny thing about Clef, IMO, is that his albums, IMO, go from best to worst in the order of their release.
Him and Jerry Duplessis do wonders together behind the boards. The Carnival is definitely one of my favourite albums, and one of the few that I consistently bump from start to finish without skipping.
The Ecleftic wasn't as good as The Carnival, but compare that album to some of the stuff coming out today. It's actually a pretty good album. Clef just spent too much of the album addressing issues in his personal life and less on just making great music. He sorta got back to good music on The Masquerade, but there was something off about that album. I can't quite put my finger on it. A lot of the cuts were dope, but it's like they're missing that something that makes them really good or great songs, at least IMO.
Also, didn't he do most of the production for Lauryn's Miseducation album, but not get any of the credits for it?
