Kendrick makes the song listenable outside of the club

So yeah his verse changes the vibe but how can it ruin a song that's not great

Future let's the beat do the work and basically stays out the way

Kendrick attacked it, now you got a song.

You niggas gon end up on the wrong side of history

The song was fine on its on. It did its purpose which was to get the club crunk. Why dont u seem to understand that. Was u niggas complaining that hard when lil jon was makin music strictly for the club? Did nas need to jump on a ying yang twin song to make it good? Stop talkin outche ya ass b. Everything aint for every rapper. I don't expect gucci to rip any beat on forest hills drives nor do i expect kendrick to rip a 2chains beat. Niggas sound out of place and it shows

In those days, there was more of a balance. But today, unless you're someone special like a Kendrick or J.Cole, the music will more than likely get pushed to the side for mediocre mumble rap.

And where's LIl Jon and Ying Yang Today? A lot of people are waiting and anticipating Nas' new album. Why? Because his work stands the test of time. Kendrick is in that same category now. 20 years from now, no one will give a damn about Future, Lil Uzi Vert, Lil Yatchy ..

... and Lil Jon made songs with Nas, Jadakiss, Ice Cube, Fat Joe, and a lot of other rappers ... and these guest spots made the songs BETTER! Lil Jon knew no one wanted to hear him holler on a record for 1 hour - LOL!

So niggas mad theres no balance boo fckin hoo bru. It is what it is im sure future, uzi, thug know they aint gonna go down as greatest in rap history. Its abt money to them not the culture. Im not gonna hate em. If they make a song i like ill listen same with any artist period. Im not gonna deny a whole sub class of music just cuz its not lyrical and artistic. I can like Future and Kendrick nun wrong with that. Doesnt mean i wanna hear future do a remix to Alright and sound out of place on it. It took me a min ti realize this but there's a reason drake gets praised so much by mainstream cuz he literally can adapt to any song style. We call it biting but he didnt sound out of place on WATTBA or Kendrick's Poetic Justice. He just flows. Kendrick doesn't seem to know how to dumb it down or flow correctly on a future track

"Its abt money to them not the culture."

You don't see a problem with this????

"not lyrical and artistic."

This is like the class clown cheating on tests and receiving the same grade as the kid who actually spent time studying.

"...future do a remix to Alright and sound out of place on it."

You're right about this. This would have been like a high school football coach putting Steve Urkel on the team! LOL!

If we're going to say Kendrick sounds out of place, we can say the same for Drake too. I don't listen to Drake, but when I hear him on other's people shit, he doesn't add to it. He totally fucked up Game's "100." And there was nothing special about "Poetic Justice." ScHoolboy Q would have made the songs 3x better.

And it's cool that Kendrick does not have to dumb it down ( for people who like to analyze lyrics with substance).

"Platinum, platinum, platinum

Gotta look at self and ask what happened

How y'all let a conscious nigga go commercial

While only makin' conscious albums?"

1) never said it wasnt a problem but future is pushin to a certain crowd. Niggas in the hood selling drugs and gangbangin aint tryin to bump no fckin kendrick duhhh. That's the crowd future is pushin to and reppin for period.

2nd bolded) no its not cuz im not comparing no damn future and Kendrick like a jackass. I understand kemdrick is a better rapper and more artistic i respect it. But im bunpin future in a club or around hoes over kendrick every time most people aint tryin to think when they hear music they wanna feel. An apparently gangsta/street shit is the hot thing right now so blame society not the artist eatin off it.

3) no he doesn't sound out of place he sticks to the subject and rides the beat thats why drake doesnt sound out of place. Kendrick switched his flow like 3 or 4 times, content didn't match the song, and wasnt ridding the beat meaning he was off beat half the verse.

U wanna celebrate that he was lyrical and was on some deep thinker/braggin abt his rap skills shit good for u. But doesn't change the fact the song and beat was abt kickin doors/doing drugs and has a street vibe to it and kendrick didnt match that at all so it sounds out of place.

That's like the coach tellin everybody do a simple dunk and u da only one doin a fancy lay up. U don't get points for that u just look like u don't belong

Yeah .. Drake was decent on Poetic, but fucked Game's song up.

So you know what every drug dealer/gangbanger in America is listening to in his car or at home ???? LMAO!!!

The Club and women: Yeah, I said that before in another post - The shit is tolerable in the club. As far as this "Make people think" stuff, I agree. No one is thinking about every word someone is saying, 75% or more of it is the beat.

But that doesn't mean Kendrick doesn't get played in the club. I've heard "Humble" "DNA" "Swimming Pools" and the first part of "M.A.A.D City" played in the club, bars and parties before.

Of course Kendrick wasn't going to rap about kicking down doors and drugs - never was that type of rapper. He has more interesting and better shit to talk about. But Future asked him to be on the remix and made the song enjoyable - lyrically. THIS IS FUTURE'S SONG, NOT KENDRICK'S - so blame Future for Kendrick being himself and not being a studio gangster.

Humble, D.N.A, Swimming Pools are all mainstream hits hell my homies play those songs cuz the beat knocks and swimming pools is catchy. But they not playin kendrick album. An ion blame future nor am i blaming kendrick his verse is cool i been said that. What im sayin is it doesn't fit on the song. It is possible to spit a good verse and it not fit the song by not stayin on beat and content not being the same.

An idk abt where ur at but all that studio gangsta shit is dead mostly. Most real street rappers dont make it to futures high in the game he's a exception

I guess we can agree to disagree on the remix topic my brother.

But a lot of these dudes are just entertainers. Take NWA for example, everyone was talking that gangsta shit, but MC Ren and Eazy-E (Kelly Park Compton Crips) were the only dudes who lived that lifestyle before they started rapping. This is why I appreciate Kendrick, he could have easily made music more gangster than YG and say Piru this and Blood that on every song, but he kept is real and it's paying off.

Oh most definitely i understand but back then wasnt no internet niggas couldnt see the real u. Now a days this gangsta rappers cant fake being gangsta cuz they get exposed quick. Remember when plies got punked? Niggas who be living other niggas lives dont last long with that gangsta shit. Niggas checkin backgrounds now a days if u talkin gangsta. Niggas been exposing The Game on here along with Ross shit aint easy to fake no mo.

Kendrick actually made this song enjoyable. A lot of these mumble songs wouldn't be so bad if people actually rapped on them.

Nooooope once again this aint Kendricks style and it shows

Kendrick got different type of styles and Kendrick was being Kendrick on this song. Dude jumped on a wack ass Future song and made it sound like something.

Actually future song was a hit before Kendrick sooo what u sayin. Also its your opinion its wack but it don't change the fact future doing numbers right now

Naw ... shit was a hit with the mumble crowd that likes hearing less than 10 words in a rap song.

McDonalds do big numbers but their food is bland as fuck.

When Kendrick pops up on a mumble rapper's song it's like Chef Ramsay (the angry British dude from the cooking shows) coming in and making everything taste better.

mumble tards unite on hitting the nosign lol

For years... lol I was a member in 7th grade... Lost my account... People made it from here... Used to have better music too... @jayrock tho and Crooked I, I wish better for... btw in my 30's... ha

This song is more about riding the beat than it is lyrics. The beat so trill you could basically say nothing with a great flow that holds to the flute and you too can master the commercial single. Sometimes a beat is so dope you just have to let it lead. Kendrick was a bad matchup for this song. These lil niggas get it.....

Wikipedia says Biggie had a guest verse on 31 songs before he died.

People don't salivate over EVERY single one but that don't stop y'all from calling him the GOAT
. Jay Z made that horrible remix to "Ha" and he's one of the GOAT. Nas got some weak ones too. And Pac. And if you consider Eminem to be in the discussion of GOAT, look no further than Encore.

Everything always gotta be black and white with you niggas.

We kinda do. He died with not much work out there. Those guest appearances are revered cause their dope and he died. Supply & Demand...

Why we bringing up BIG in a K Dot thread tho...

Really? You revere every single Biggie guest verse?

I brought up alot of the GOATs, mainly cause I know that's what this thread is really about: the idea that Kendrick can't be considered one of the GOAT one day because of a couple of bad verses.

The real songs with BIG, not them made up shits with recycled verses...

The thread is about K Dot "Mask Off (Remix)" verse btw. Doesn't ruin it but definetly sounds out of place. Like Em on the "Lean Back (Remix)"...

Biggie had 31 guests verses BEFORE he died.

And as much as I despise Eminem's music for the past 8 years, he was not out of place on Lean Back Remix.

I didn't dispute the amount lol. Said the real songs with BIG not the made up shits with recycled verses are dope and it's true. Nothing I said was lies...

giphy.gif

Why did you even mention his posthumous features then when I clearly said I was talking about what he did before he died?

"I did real songs with Big, no made-up shits..."

Jadakiss - Checkmate

I admittedly added the recycled verses part. It was play on the Kiss line and me reaffirming my position that I consider those 31 guest appearances before death dope and revered. So can we stop bringing up BIG in the K Dot thread, it's getting a little weird now...

It ain't no region bias, it's just Kendrick's dickridin fanbase who think everything that nigga does is classic

Same can be said for Future fans. Yall compare this nigga to Hendrix this nigga literally started the mumble rapper phase

Actually we don't compare him to hendrix. Future himself made that up lol he calls himself

Super Future

Fire Marshall Future

Astronaut Future

Future Hendrix

Ud know that if u did ya research

Nigga you call him future hendrix that's comparing him. This is exactly what I'm talking about lmao Future Stans are the worst

How is that comparing him? It's just a nickname Imo, like when Jeezy called himself Michael Jackson Jeezy

And no one called Jeezy that lmao

The crazy thing is females use to listen to rap for the beats and vibes now fellas are doing it, along with the homo over and undertones the emasculation is real in hip hop.

Dont forget, it used to be women who liked MC SuchandSuch because "he was cute". Now these niggas like Lil WhotheFuck because "he got swag".
