All that poll shows is that people in the West are more likely to lie than people in developing countries. If you really believe that less that 5 percent of the people in the US would have a problem with someone of a different race moving next door, I have a mansion on the moon I'll sell you for a good price.

The poll does not show that. But it's possible -- likely even -- that it being taboo in Western countries to say you don't want a neighbor of a different race affects the results. But I don't doubt that America is not even close to being the most racist country in the world. So the poll has some truth to it.

Western countries are more racist. That is a fact. You know why? Because more Western countries have diversity within them. Most of those Asian countries are highly homogenized racially, so of course most of them would have misgivings concerning having someone of a different race next door to them. It's the fear of the unknown. People in America can work and associate with people of different races every day and still be racist. You have people out there that yuck it up without any troubles with coworkers of different race, but let someone of that coworker's race move close to them and then it would be a problem.

I agree that you have to compare -- if only imaginatively, since few other countries are as diverse -- countries with a similar level of diversity to really know which is more racist. But I think those Asian countries would be even worse if they had more diversity. Compare European countries with little diversity. Diversity tends to make them more racist, and I don't see why the same wouldn't hold true for Asian countries. Furthermore, these European countries already have more diversity and yet I think they are more tolerant than these Asian countries.

Your view I can only say is from Mexicans here. It's not complete racial harmony in Mexico or Latin America yo but a lot of these attitudes happen in this country for most foreign people.

Ive been to Mexico. Havent had an issue with race even though i was just a tourist. They were eager to get that paper though.

I been to Cozumel Mexico it was cool because its a tourist section but if you in Guadalajara or some shit like it might be way different .

This. Although I have seen a couple exceptions of em with other races here and there. On my campus, the majority of them only mingle amongs themselves in whatever Indian language they are speaking. The only time they talk outside is mostly regarding academics and that's it.

Nah I think it's right. Racism isn't actually that bad here in the us compared to some countries I used to live in Europe. And I can only imagine another country where u don't run in to any blacks at all. You've only seen them on cops, worldstar and ghetto movies. You wouldn't prolly want them as your neighbor either

Racism is more economic and political in nature against an entire race. Those people are just brainwashed and homogeneous and its like that in Asia, but if you making money and doing good they will leave you alone. Now Russia they will attack your ass and other countries they aren't even talking about.

To be fair, people outside of the country see that shit in popular media and don't understand that its offensive because they don't get the context associated with it.

For instance, I had a friend in the military that lived in Korea for a while. He said there was a store called Nigger Shoes that sold athletic shoes and clothes. So he got pissed about it, but come to find out dude named the store that because a white man told him that black people liked the name and point out that it's used all the time in rap music. The korean didn't know any better so he went with it.
