I never denied him not being a rapper. There are emcees like Kendrick Lamar that don't rap about that stuff for the most part and gets praised. The problem I have with Macklemore for the 1000000000000000001th time is that he makes pop music and its being passed off as hip hop when it isn't.

What Macklemore is doing is no different than what the Black Eyed Peas did 10 years ago but it was considered pop.

Now onto Macklemore.... Real heads see what time it is like I said before. Macklemore's been trying to get on since the early '00's. He's found what worked for him and that's cool.

The fact that he makes music that's passed off as hip hop that bypasses the originators sets off alarm bells. Why? We've seen this happen before. It happened in other genres like jazz, blues, rock & roll and even house music. Him achieving this level of commercial success without that co-sign from the originators is a bad sign. I'm happy for him but this n*gga showed us they can make and push their brand of hip hop without that co-sign. Back in the day they needed that co-sign, but now they can bypass blacks and make their brand of hip hop and pass it off as their own.

Who controls the labels? Who controls distribution of music? Who controls the media outlets? We will listen to and watch what they put out there. We ain't control sh*t and that's out own fault. History is repeating itself and we have no'one to blame but ourselves for letting it get to this point. If people keep stealing your sh*t at some point you gotta look at your own role in it.
