physical copies of the product were printed and sold. do artists give all those mixtape cd's away? nah they sell them, at shows and on their websites. they make money of them. 10 million dollars is a little extreme, but if your making money off someone elses hard work its only fair that some compensation is in order.

What people don't realize you can't make a copy of anything and give away or sell. You can't legally copy movies and give them to people can you? Can you copy cd's and give them to people on the streets? That's why torrents, downloads are a big problem because its being copied and given away. If its copywritten you can't touch it and claim it as your own or use it without the consent of the creator free or sold.
