ay how u quote sumbody else shit. btw that nigga jamaica hit the nail on the head. nigas overrate him because very few nigas in the mainstream got lyrics.

When did Lupe become a mainstream rapper? One top 10 hit doesn't make you mainstream.

Stop making excuses, b.

yea, it is

maybe one track u should skip

Maybe in a few years I would have to see how well that album holds up, but at the time I remember skipping a lot of the tracks toward the end of the album.

Lookin at the last five tracks: The Cool, Hurt Me Soul, Pressure, American Terrorist, Emperor's Soundtrack

Maybe a difference in taste but all of those are solid tracks to me...maybe skip emperor's soundtrack, its not as easily appealin but even then the beat was hot and he still spit

You have to put it in context, b. And you're overrating some of those albums. It took Illmatic, for example, years to be recognized as a landmark album. It wasn't a hit right out the gate.

F&L will probably go down the same path as an Illmatic...under the radar initially, but will gain in value as time goes on.

Lupe Made One Song About Skateboarding. WTF are you talking about?

And you're mentioning "street cred." I know you're not black.

I thought Kool G Rap gave the blueprint on how to do mafioso rap.

You seem to be stalling, sir. Stop making excuses.

Nas' "classics" and "street cred" are null because he has like 12 years on Lupe. Too much proximity there. Give Lupe 12 more years, and I'm sure he'll have the same industry clout that Nas does.

But regardless, that doesn't change how dope Lupe is lyrically and the high level of quality in his work.

How can you all say that Food and Liquor wasn't a classic, it had everything anybody could want from a lyricist, a wide range of subject matter, very few rap features, great production, not to mention 4 grammy nominations and one win. Imo, it was one of the best albums of 06.
