"I'm locked inside a cell in me
I know that there's a jail in you
consider this your bailin' out."
I like the overall message this song is great.
Ekscape;2003010 said:Man this is some real as sh*t... I love what Lupe did here... Made it radio friendly but laid a serious message... something conscious rappers have been criticizing for not being able to do... I think this will be a hit
TheEyeronic1;2003027 said:exactly.
all the niggas that get auto-assumed for that conscious shit (talib, common, mos def) CANT make songs like this one without it sounding all afro-centric and back packer-ish.
Ekscape;2003040 said:did you listen to the hook? "it's so loud inside my head with words I never said"... the whole point of the song is to talk about theories, frustrations, that are taboo for a celebrity/artist to say or talk about...
boom;2003061 said:you aint always gotta be a "RAPPER" over tracks.. sometimes just get straight to the point on some real shit.. no matter what the beat is.. that shit gone be felt.. pay less attention to the beat and what he's saying and you'll feel this...
TheEyeronic1;2003073 said:so first...people lambast that man for being OVERLY complicated for a very simple message.
now people are lambasting him for being very simple for an OVERLY complicated message.
god damn.
urmybitch;2003321 said:The point of the song is to send a message to people and get them to think. While he doesn't really bring up anything new to the discussion I like the song because he's chosen to release a single that is meant to send a message. People sometimes need to appreciate songs for what they are. It's rare to see a rap artist approach music like this these days so I give him props, and I ultimately support him if he continues down this path and not follow the same ignorant bullshit rap that floods the radio waves, and the same bullshit rap that depicts certain images as if they were acceptable. Rap fans and music fans in general need to start demanding more from these so called musicians and we need to stop falling for these gimmicks and one trick pony's that fail to evolve personally and fail to evolve the genre and all genres of music.
