The point of the song is to send a message to people and get them to think. While he doesn't really bring up anything new to the discussion I like the song because he's chosen to release a single that is meant to send a message. People sometimes need to appreciate songs for what they are. It's rare to see a rap artist approach music like this these days so I give him props, and I ultimately support him if he continues down this path and not follow the same ignorant bullshit rap that floods the radio waves, and the same bullshit rap that depicts certain images as if they were acceptable. Rap fans and music fans in general need to start demanding more from these so called musicians and we need to stop falling for these gimmicks and one trick pony's that fail to evolve personally and fail to evolve the genre and all genres of music.

i fuck with this.....

the beat may sound similar to some other shit but thats how you get spins...this is what production sounds like in 2011, niggas gotta get paid

yoooooooooooooooo

I absolutely fuck with this song. Some of y'all need to lighten up and let the music be what it is. If you can't envision his vision you're trying to hard to not like this song. The song bumps. I would absolutely love this song as some end of the days, Armageddon, we will triumph above all evils type of video. At least that's how I see it in my mind.

Stop trying to define this man Lupe. Didn't he just drop SLR for y'all cats. Be happy he was able to muscle his way to a release date (with the help of his fans). Bout to replay this shit again.

Great song

"I'm locked inside a cell in me
I know that there's a jail in you
consider this your bailin' out."

I like the overall message this song is great.

Man this is some real as sh*t... I love what Lupe did here... Made it radio friendly but laid a serious message... something conscious rappers have been criticizing for not being able to do... I think this will be a hit

TheEyeronic1;2003027 said:
exactly.

all the niggas that get auto-assumed for that conscious shit (talib, common, mos def) CANT make songs like this one without it sounding all afro-centric and back packer-ish.

Ekscape;2003040 said:
did you listen to the hook? "it's so loud inside my head with words I never said"... the whole point of the song is to talk about theories, frustrations, that are taboo for a celebrity/artist to say or talk about...

boom;2003061 said:
you aint always gotta be a "RAPPER" over tracks.. sometimes just get straight to the point on some real shit.. no matter what the beat is.. that shit gone be felt.. pay less attention to the beat and what he's saying and you'll feel this...

TheEyeronic1;2003073 said:
so first...people lambast that man for being OVERLY complicated for a very simple message.

now people are lambasting him for being very simple for an OVERLY complicated message.

god damn.

Lupe Fiasco feat. Skylar Grey - Words I Never Said
[Skylar Grey]
It’s so loud Inside my head
With words that I should have said!
As I drown in my regrets
I can’t take back the words I never said
I can’t take back the words I never said

[Lupe Fiasco]
I reall think the war on terror is a bunch of bullshit
Just a poor excuse for you to use up all your bullets
How much money does it take to really make a full clip
9/11 building 7 did they really pull it
Uhh, And a bunch of other cover ups
Your childs future was the first to go with budget cuts
If you think that hurts then, wait here comes the uppercut
The school was garbage in the first place, thats on the up and up
Keep you at the bottom but tease you with the uppercrust
You get it then they move you so you never keeping up enough
If you turn on TV all you see’s a bunch of “what the f-cks”
Dude is dating so and so blabbering bout such and such
And that aint Jersey Shore, homie thats the news
And these the same people that supposed to be telling us the truth
Limbaugh is a racist, Glen Beck is a racist
Gaza strip was getting bombed, Obama didn’t say shit
Thats why I aint vote for him, next one either
I’ma part of the problem, my problem is I’m peaceful
And I believe in the people.

[Skylar Grey]
It’s so loud inside my head
With words that I should have said!
As I drown in my regrets
I can’t take back the words I never said
I can’t take back the words I never said

[Lupe Fiasco - Verse 2]
Now you can say it aint our fault if we never heard it
But if we know better than we probably deserve it
Jihad is not a holy war, wheres that in the worship?
Murdering is not Islam!
And you are not observant
And you are not a muslim
Israel don’t take my side cause look how far you’ve pushed them
Walk with me into the ghetto, this where all the Kush went
Complain about the liquor store but what you drinking liquor for?
Complain about the gloom but when’d you pick a broom up?
Just listening to Pac aint gone make it stop
A rebel in your doubts, aint gon make it out
If you don’t become an actor you’ll never be a factor
Pills with million side effects
Take em when the pains felt
Wash them down with Diet soda!
Killin off your brain cells
Crooked banks around the World
Would gladly give a loan today
So if you ever miss payment
They can take your home away!

[Skylar Grey]
It’s so loud inside my head
With words that I should have said!
As I drown in my regrets
I can’t take back the words I never said, never said
I can’t take back the words I never said

[Lupe Fiasco - Verse 3]
I think that all the silence is worse than all the violence
Fear is such a weak emotion thats why I despise it
We scared of almost everything, afraid to even tell the truth
So scared of what you think of me, I’m scared of even telling you
Sometimes I’m like the only person I feel safe to tell it to
I’m locked inside a cell in me, I know there’s a jail in you
Consider this your bailing out, so take a breath, inhale a few
My screams is finally getting free, my thoughts is finally yelling through

[Skylar Grey]
It’s so loud Inside my head
With words that I should have said!
As I drown in my regrets
I can’t take back the words I never said

blah blah blah. on the real, i'm starting to hate most "conscience" rap.

all they do is bitch about the state of the world and offer NO solutions. I don't wanna hear that gloom and doom shit just to agree with it and.......then the song end.

fucks off my mood only to go NOWHERE. Shit reminds me of a mufucka who always be negative and you try to give them the brush off to get away before they drag you down. that's why the shit dont sell.

"It’s so loud inside my head

With words that I should have said!

As I drown in my regrets"

yeah whatever nigga.

Lupe has always been on point, I have been listening to this song all day...this is the shit I have been wanting to hear for a long time Genius song, overall 10/10

the message is great. lyrics are on point. the beat is cool, but the hook is just average tho. not bad for a single.

Lyrically its def on point. Musically it'll prolly grow on me just really not my type of production. Im gaining a understanding of what Lupe meant when he said this album would be pop. Production wise def preferred the 1st single tho.
