Lupe Fiasco=Future G.O.A.T.??

Lupe has a large off-line fanbase, he just has some intelligent tech-savvy fans that know how to use cyberspace effectively.

That offline/online argument is foolish considering the fact that Lupe has already toured overseas, local and Myspace rappers dont do World tours.

Lupe has two albums made that aren't released...fuck are you talking bout? ^^^

No I dont mean in terms of music. Lupe puts in work when it comes to music, dont get me wrong.

Lupe doesnt put in a lot of work when it comes to promoting his shit though. Dude has a twitter account with over 200,000 followers and barely discusses his music. He is always on about some bullshit that i dont give a fuck about. In fact, i almost unfollowed him the other day.

If Lupe tried harder to promote and spread the word and not talk about his "mountain hike", he would have gotten wayyyyyyyy more than 28 thousand signitures on that petition.

Lasers would be out by now. Lupe has the fanbase. Lupe has the music.

bruh might wanna do music, but he prolly gives no fuck about the business side..

Exactly. Have you seen dudes twitter?? He always on some bullshit that has nothing to do with his music.

He is lazy as fuck when it comes to promoting himself.

Its pathetic.

Lupe needs to quit his bitching and generate a fucking demand for this album. The music is done and completed, now its time to wake people up.

You have to try and look at it from his side. He has been pushing to get this album out for two years. Thats hella executive meetings...paperwork...he's frustrated. I believe he's tired of battling these label heads to push this album. So instead, he has his fanbase demand for the music.

I wish I knew what has been said between him and the labels.

Atlantic is fucking up too.

I wish i knew more to this story and what talks have gone on behind closed doors.

But yea, I feel you. I suppose I would be frustrated as fuck too

In the meantime Gucci & Boosie are dropping two prison-themed albums, and Wacko Flaka is about to release his coontastic album.

You gotta love this industry shit.

Atlantic Records dont take Lupe fans serious cause they know these corny cats are gonna download that shit whenever it drops and not buy the actuall CD causing it to FLOP like most his projects do they wont make any money of it.

exactly I mean I don't agree with the shit but today part of the game is to self coon yourself unless you are a super established artist if you are on a major label. It sounds good to folks who just want the music but the accounting office is up there crunching numbers and the math ain't looking right to the man.

F&L sold like 300K with no hit singles.....and The Cool went gold. The demand is there, but these record execs are stuck in the mid '00s. The don't seem to realize that the dance/ringtone/trap era is dead and people are demanding shit from these "hipster" rappers (Lupe, Drake, Cudi, Wiz, etc....)

Kick Push was a small hit... his music doesnt fit into any lane which makes the majors difficult to promote. He has one Gold Album I didnt know that perhaps they feel Lasers doesnt have the potential to do the same numbers. Lupe is better off as a independent.

His situation is similar to that of Joe Budden 1 hit wonder with a Gold Album... a lot like Lupe but he got 2 albums out on a major instead of 1.

Thats the key element that alot of people dont take into account.

The labels are trying to maximize profit, and they recognize that Lupe lacks the gimmicks & sales power of a LiL Wayne or Drake...

Thats the flipside of being on a major-label, you lose control of your carrer and put your life in somebody elses hands...I wish he'd just go Indie.

This is a stupid comment by a stupid poster

How so... wasnt Kick Push a decent hit on Food & Liquor???? Does he not have a Gold Album which was fuled by a major hit with Superstar for The Cool?? His music cannot be boxed into one particular catergory cause even though I feel hes overrated hes still a dope MC who touches on different topics. Technically he is a 1 hit possibly 2 hit wonder not a slight to him based on charts.

How is his current major label situation not similar to Joe Budden with Def Jam. He had a major hit with Pump It Up similar to Superstar and it pushed his album to gog GOLD. Now like Joe did, Lupe seems to be having problems getting the label to set a release date for his next album. Now do you understand when I meant by similar?? SMH @ the stupidity of The Reason over these years man.
