Nah, this is different. The judge was lenient on TI b/c TI said he was gonna change and be an example. TI's actions have pretty much embarrassed him and the court, so I expect him to make an example out of TI this time around.

I think the theory holds weight but I believe there were other factors at work as well, like the fan protests which are bad for company image.

As far as the different fan bases, it doesn't matter. They need to pull a profit in & Lupe is the next best thing. Even when TI gets out in 6 months (allegedly,) they have to do a build up to his album all over again. So they need Lupe for a good tide over until that time comes.
