I thought many of these joints were pre-made with beats and hooks and Lupe had to succumb to the pressure and spit on them so the shit would be released. Am I wrong? Did he not say that?

So how u feel he could've executed it? i mean he said what was on his mind and what alot of ppl thinkin....

A story is what I was thinking, clever wordplay I guess... I think I said it before it was really just like going to church. Heavy rhetoric, but real simple so people understand. Look, I appreciate what he wanted to do, this aint for me is all im saying...

I dont think people know what "commercial" is anyway

this is the culture.. of ill "beats" rhymes.. content is secondary.. after ill beats its image, then its.."swag" then its something else.(the gossipy nature of hiphop fans on some soap opera shit)

I remember when "commercial" was looked at by the "streets" as selling out... but i always looked at it as making money.. now.. fast forward more than a decade later.. niggas have been selling out .. to "Make money"... the world is a funny place..

news flash.. Kanye has pop beats.. Jayz has pop beats..

and in the same token...

your favorite "street" grimey, gutter, crack rappers.. are commercial as well.. its a PACKAGE people its trendy.. thats commercial..

Get it together.

My bad for the rant.. but these are some thoughts i have had about the "Streets" and peoples cookie cutter perceptions.. these are only my own thoughts

agree or disagree its up to yall.

When we say commerical, we talking about the same generic beat we hear on the radio. maybe you dont fuck with the radio, but Ive heard that same beat with I need a doctor, massive attack, love the way you lie et. etc.. Shits been assaulting me ears all summer, whether or not I like the message of the song

Here's the discography of the producer for last year

2010
Nicki Minaj - Massive Attack - single
"Massive Attack" (feat. Sean Garrett; produced with Sean Garrett)[1][6][7]
B.o.B - B.o.B Presents: The Adventures of Bobby Ray
"Airplanes" (feat. Hayley Williams of Paramore; produced with DJ Frank E)[8]
"Airplanes, Part II" (feat. Eminem and Hayley Williams of Paramore; produced with Eminem and Luis Resto)[8]
Eminem - Recovery
"Love the Way You Lie" (feat. Rihanna)
Rihanna - Loud
"Love the Way You Lie (Part II)" (feat. Eminem)
T.I. - No Mercy
"Castle Walls" (feat. Christina Aguilera)[9]
Diddy-Dirty Money - Last Train to Paris
"Coming Home" (featuring Skylar Grey)

2011
Dr. Dre - Detox
"I Need a Doctor" (feat. Eminem & Skylar Grey) [10][11]
Lupe Fiasco - Lasers
"Words I Never Said" (feat. Skylar Grey) [12]

Maybe our words are misplaced here, what I mean to be saying that its generic, unoriginal. I think that was what he was going for, i just can't fuck with it. Its good if the radio fucks with it, cause its a good message, but all in all it is what it is.

just listened beat just average i have no idea what this chic is singing about his flow is great i really don't to care for what he spitting. it's 2011 i don't want to hear bout some 9/11 conspiracies at this point, or talking about the media. i mean this shit is just old dead topics. sometimes i just wanna nod my head this ain't it nothing wrong with some food for thought but not on a single.

Real shit, re listened to the Fahrenheit series a couple of days ago... a lot of his best shit is on them joints......

lupe beats on dat mixtape>>>>>his beats thus far on this album......i agree, dats why im like why dont he get better beats for his album, shit dont make no sense.....he using beats for this album that most rappers would use on there mixtapes for real, shit is ass backwards......

Budget I guess, them niggas expensive...... I think alex da kid is inhouse, cause he does a lot of shit for atlantic artists... b.o.b., ti.....

lupe is too tight with kanye to not be able to get a hookup, im pretty sure kanye could have at least gave him one good beat for a single to make it fit in his budget......and i never heard of this alex da kid, but his beats sound generic just like his name.......

@King i wasnt just explicitly talking about the sound/beat its the overall culture, sensibilities my words were more about shit across the board..

and you should know that media, publications are gonna stick as close to status quo as possible.. once upon a time BET was different as far as award shoes and what not.. but now everything is gravitated to a one particular trend more so than at any other time
