I like Atmosphere at times, and Slug can spit but that shit was wack and I think Bitch Bad had a deeper message, but that's just my opinion.... even Murs' latest hit harder…

@Ben E

Bitch Bad holds a deeper message than domestic violence? I'd agree that it is potentially looking to a larger proportion of a small community or that it's bravely calling out rappers and the music business as a whole. Especially considering that the rapper in the video looks a lot like Lil Wayne, or is it just me? I like that a lot about Bitch Bad, but I'm just saying as a song, I'm not feeling it on 'I want to put this song on repeat', as much as I felt like that with Lupe's last album's single, 'The Show Goes On'.

I disagree that it's deeper subject matter, as I don't believe it's as serious with regards to the outcomes. 1 in 4 women are subject to domestic violence in their lifetimes and 2 women are killed per week because of it (I googled).

Murs' latest is nice agreed, but I think Slug's rhyming was poetic on 'Last to Say' and overall, it was one of the better tracks of last year because of the vivid imagery that he portrayed through his rhymes, as well as the cycle that was portrayed believably.

I like Lupe's angle on the track, I like his message, he tells the story well.

I just don't think it's going to be 'my song', which all tracks that are going to climax the charts, should be. Lupe made a song about rapping from a coffin to graze the Earth again sound more interesting and 'bump-able' than this record, IMO.

I just saw the vid and Lupe continues to impress with the meaningful songs. Tracks like this are truthful and controversial.

I see how people even equate the pink haired chick in the video with nicki minaj and I guarantee a lot of people will do that. That type of shit misses the point, hoes been wearing crazy wigs, and hoes been calling themselves "bad bitch"es.

Its all about skewed perception of self for young girls and twisted perception of girls fo little boys and I think the video shows what he's talking about better than if you just listen to the song (which is equally dope). In this instance the video surpasses the song because of how much it adds to it. The visual story speaks more than the verbal message but both are important.

Too bad its surrounded by the same type of material it speaking against and since its one song among dozens of others only certain folks will actually catch it and absorb it. *shrugs*

I don't think it misses the point at all. right now she has every young girls ear and they emulate her actions referring to themselves as barbies and bitches. They want the outlandish outfits, fake proportions and lifestyle. I believe it shows an aspect that the entertainment is raising our youth. It may not point directly at Nicki but it does show the type of influence she and other women have.

I think Black people (capital B) need this video... it really shows how popular "hip hop" has devolved into a modern day minstrel show and the effects it has on our people... the irony is the title and the beat made me think Lupe had completely sold out, especially since yesterday MTV premiered the video at the same time on all of its stations (again, irony...) and I didn't catch it til today when I watched it on the biggest minstrel show in media history (cough* worldstar* cough)

@BOSSBOO WHAT U THINK ABOUT THAT?

The industry isn't going to ban this or shun it. You niggas need to learn that the music BUSINESS runs on supply and demand.

If the audience demand this TYPE of positive music it will be SUPPLIED. So go out there and support and demand this type of music.

Dope song and video...BET need to run this on LOOP for 24 hours.

They just see that people are starting to realize the negative effects the coonish music they have been pushing for the last decade is having on the youth. So now, since the audience for "conscious" music is starting to make a rebound, They are going to push artists like Lupe/Nas back out into the forefront. It's ALL ABOUT MONEY. But with that said, I much rather have a Lupe than a Lil Wayne being religiously played on all venues for music......

Bout damn time, you ask me. I remember back in the late 90s where every dude tried to get with a video chick look a like. Now we got an entire generation ruined by that. And Lupe couldn't have picked a better time to drop that video cause a lot of the coonish music, outside of the 2 chainz and Ross, is flopping.
