Co-sign to the fullest. Luda has traversed every aspect of this rap shit and does it better then most rappers who stay in one lane. He has managed to stay relevant in every climate, and has been more of a trend setter than a follower. I remember the first time I heard him on the Made You Look remix and was only surprised in the slightest that he could spar with Nas and Jada. Good topic.

nas never really tried to be an entrepreneur he just stuck to what he did best. you may say nas did mafioso rap but luda had a few trap raps woven in his catalog. looking at this decade nas made 2 critically acclaimed albums and have evolved as an artist, while luda (while still a solid emcee) is still doing the same type of records.

cosign at the bolded.

when i wuz around 19-22 i wuz stuck and fascinated bout rappers clothin lines, shoe deals and who appeared on forbes list. I aint into that shit no more, it got outta me as i got older.

I read a Nas interview like 2005 before he signed to def jam and he clearly stated that he wants to go down as the only emcee who steyed relevant through musik nuthin else interests him.

Its funny cuz in all genres, when they talk of they GOATS they only base they legacy on they respective music. No endorsement deals, movie roles or who made the most cash. John Lennon is one of the most influential musicians that ever lived, only Bob Marley tops him but these two are revered cuz of the impact and influence of their music.

Pac died with thousands of dollars but Jay and Diddy combined will never match Pac's influnce let alone surpass it. Its only in hiphop where wealth is worshipped, thats why we hav the bitch ass mtv brain trust put Jay ahead of Pac as GOAT. Thats a travesty,blasphemous,sacrilegeous...............Jay has the roc, clothin lines,s.carter shoes, married to the baddest bitch blah blah ...Bob Marley had beautiful women but we reggae fans dont talk bout that

As someone who used to vehemently defend this man...FUCK LUDA!

Nigga been makin' the same album since '02. I kept saying "nah, just wait, he bout to drop a classic" and it never happened. Luda will never be anything more than an amazing lyricst, above average rapper, with a mediocre catalog. Nigga too busy tryna crack jokes.

Typical IC hypocrisy.

This pic gets posted and Jay is labeled a sellout. Meanwhile Luda gets praised for his "business acumen"

Typical I.C. Emenim-freak.

Post some pics of Ludacris drinking milk-shakes with your grandfathers or find an Emenim thread to play in.

Your threads are much more fun to post in. What you got coming next? A 10 page thesis on how Soldja Boi is the most concious rapper alive?

(AllHipHop News) Ludacris is helping high schools in New Orleans replenish their libraries, after numerous learning institutions were destroyed by Hurricane Katrina in 2006.

The Atlanta rap star has teamed with global bookstore Better World Books and non-profit DoSomething.org to launch the "Epic Book Drive" to re-stock libraries in New Orleans' Recovery School District.

Ludacris serves a spokesman for the "Epic Book Drive" and is featured in PSA's for the initiative, which is calling on students all across the country to band together to share books, especially in New Orleans, where 80% of the schools were damaged by Hurricane Katrina.

“I am proud to be a spokesperson for this initiative as it’s in line with my dedication to empowering young people,” Ludacris said in a statement.

"The campaign is giving something as simple as a book to a student in a much needed area like the Recovery District so they can have the opportunity to read, communicate and be inspired," Ludacris continued. "Sharing in this way will have an incredible impact on the confidence and abilities of the next generation of leaders and I’m excited to be leading the charge.”

Check out Ludacris' PSA for the EpicBookDrive below or click here for more information

As a man, I have a lotta respect for Luda. He does a lot more for his community than 95% of rappers out there and for that he should be commended. But musically, I've never been a big fan. And I have given him a chance. I've followed his career ever since he dropped "Catch Up" on that J. Prince Presents The Realest N*gg*s Down South compilation. I will admit though, my expectations were too high, because he was signed to Def Jam South by Scarface. He's original, but his overpronunciation of every word gets on my nerves. And I think even his fans will admit that his last 2 or 3 albums have not been that good. He seems to be taken the Ice-T route with his career, where he's more concerned with movies and Law & Order guest spots than his music. I understand that, aside from touring and commercials, there's not much money to be made for an artist in the music industry. I just feel like if Luda hadn't been makin money off of t.v. shows and films, we'd probably be askin "Whatever happenned to that dude Ludacris?".

Respect to Luda but he doesn't shit on Scarface's catalog & career. Just mentioning cause that's my favorite rapper. Funnily enough, Face is the guy who discovered him.

No, he isnt even in the same league as 'Face, the title was meant to stimulate discussion, dont take it literally.

Over the last decade Luda is top 3 based on Career moves, Catalog success, and Classy behavior that has kept him out of prison.
