He had them mad at him years ago, not in 2011
My logic is saying that right now Drake is more popular than Ludacris.. that's my argument
outside of this diss, drake is talked more about for his music, the dumb shit he do even down to his sweater fetish, and by other rappers either positively or negatively

So Drake's more popular because people don't like the way he dresses and his subject matter? And Ludacris isn't as popular because he doesn't rock sweaters, do simp shit, and have simp subject matter?

Like I said, arguing who is and isn't popular is asinine, but this is Ludacris we're talking about. The guy who was embroiled in a battle with Pepsi and Bill O'Reilly.

Drake called Luda out from using it in a wack way.. which it was. And however wack a trend it was, drake did start the trend of using it even though he actually didn't invent the artform... which is possible. Like people bringing back certain shit and making it popular even though they weren't the actual originators. Like snapbacks coming back even though they weren't invented in 2011

And 09/10 everyone in the mainstream was using that shit

Once again, if you do not invent something you have zero right to go at other people. While the Luda line was wack, Drake is not a top tier spitter, so he had no place to criticize. Like how you gonna go at this man for using a style in poor taste when you can't even use it to stand out as an actual spitter. This is like a nigga in 2011 using the Barkley "spin the ball" at the freethrow line shit and having at few others follow. Then getting mad when another player does it but only manages 65% from the line. All while exhibit A only shoots 68%. This is exactly how this situation sounds. A young dumb nigga doing young dumb nigga shit.

I just hope this shit goes full force. Niggas love comparing Drake to LL, well we'll see if he has the ability to defend himself in the booth like LL did so viciously. I sincerely doubt it though.

Lol this that relativity bullshit
I hate arguing popularity too but selling a lot of records = more people checking for you, and more people talking about you
same with having songs on the radio, but I know luda has a couple

Thank You, these dudes want to call Luda a Hater and he's "Trying to Get Press". They were the ones calling Luda out, so what were they doing going at an established artist? But let me guess they weren't trying to get press? It's best Drake nor Sean respond and just fall back and realize they messed up. Luda got T.I. before, people sleeping on Luda's battle ability, I don't think Drake nor Sean is built to take on Luda in my opinion. Can't be singing hooks in a battle guys, you won't win. Luda point is simple. YOU DID NOT INVENT SHIT SO HOW ARE YOU SPEAKING ON HOW SOMEONE USES IT?

Nah Luda spit a wack line with a rhyme scheme Drake popularized, Drake is allowed to call him out.
Thats how I see it anyway
That Luda line was wack anyways, and Im glad someone in the industry said something

Nah Luda got some songs on the radio, Ray J don't
Luda is definiitely more popular than Ray J
People were talking about Ray J for a couple weeks, luda at least gets people talking about him somewhat consistently with having some sort of product out

It won't, but even if it did Drake can handle himself with this rap shit, he's not amazing lyrically but he's enough for it

So what about Ludacris was being discussed prior to this thread? Keep in mind, we started talking about popularity because someone said "we haven't talked this much about Ludacris in years" and you co-signed that statement.

Ray J finds his way back into headlines every couple months for some extra shit and then follows it up by trying to put out new music. You said that's what makes Drake more popular than Luda, so why not Ray J?

Word but I hope Drake and Sean respond just so they can get ate up. The problem is these younger rappers with no real accomplishments and no real place in rap history talk wreckless because hip hop allows it. I think it will only take one good example to be made to shut these niggas up. The way Luda shut TI up opened my eyes. I mean Drake was copping please before he even had drama by spitting " diss me and you'll never get a reply for it". You above such an essential part of hip hop? Or are you aware that you're not

of the same ilk as rappers who's value exceeds simply "the next radio single"?

Only dumb people would create the distinction that this nigga was stewing on this for a year for any other reason besides a publicity stunt. Let a nigga say something about TI or Game they ain't gonna wait a year to address the dude who dissed him are they?

Luda gets no pass for this fake shit he want to claim to be all offended be he ain't say shit to Big Sean or Drake a year ago

I disagreed with the statement saying that Luda hadn't been talked about in years, but I did say that as a rapper in hiphop this is the most he's been talked about
and Luda is on number one and top ten hits (Taoi Cruz, Justin Bieber), Ray J isn't. But he's on those hits as an electrodance artist, not as a part of hip hop. Its like when a rapper jumps on an rnb track, its still an rnb track

In a hip hop context this is the most Luda has been talked about

It's amazing, you don't have New RnB singers going at Legends or new rock bands going at their legends. Only in Hip Hop You have 2 young bucks trying to diss a Vets rhymes and an artist biting someone's whole style saying the person she was influenced by is washed up. To add insult to injury this new school artist goes on the radio and says he INVENTED a flow that has been used WAYYYYY before was rapping and kids now a days ate it up like it was true. Cause Big Sean said, "Drake bit my flow", Drake says, "Yea Big Sean started it but I did it best on Forever". WRONG, WRONG , WRONG. Big Sean didn't start anything and based on Luda's History Lesson, Q-Tip, Cam and Biggie did the flow better than both Big Sean or Drake ever did and they only had 1 line. No Respect in Hip Hop What So Ever. Sad.

Another reason Drake isn't more popular than Ludacris. If Drake is more popular than Luda, then he must be more popular than Eminem too. And Nas. And Nelly. And Outkast.
