His career should have been much better from a music standpoint, the artistic achievement doesn't match the talent. Props to the nigga though, he carved out a really nice career and parlayed that shit into a lot of successful business.

Luda had a great career. But he's one of those guys, So talented, u felt He could had impacted the game more.

Talent wise, luda is flawless a great all around rapper, No weakness. He just aint Maximized it.

For what though?he got an Oscar during peak and his label was popping a tiny bit no need to work at that point..

By 06 I knew he was gonna pull a ice cube and rarely hear from him on wax..

Luda fell off when he started gettin serious. He shoulda just stuck wit the hilarious, potent lyrics angle...

He doesn't know how to balance it out. It's like he's trying prove himself to mothafuckaz instead of just doing him. Ya dig?

Like that Stomp record. The shit was hard, nobody gave a dam about his image. They just liked the record. It's like he was doing too much when he did "Theatre of the Mind".

You don't have to make an entire serious album. Nigga do what made you go platinum. If it aint broke don't fix it.

That's the thing though, people complain when artist don't care and people care when artist care too much.

True, but in Luda's case his attempt at growth alienated his core fan base. Nobody ever really doubted Luda was a nice MC. Hell since that guest spot on Nas' "Made You Look" remix 10 years ago niggas have been well aware Luda can rip a track universally. His actual skill matter was never in debate so why he felt the need to make a "serious" album when that's not his forte is beyond me. It's like with a singer. Some singers can sing "issue" songs, and some you just want them to sing a song simply because they can sing. Luda is one of the few niggas who can grab your attention and keep it by rapping just to rap.
