Missy has taken her head off of her neck and kept rapping on more than one occasion. She wins.

I think part of the reason Missy has such good videos is because she has a rock solid fan base: women. There are only so many female rappers (maybe a handful at any given point) and women support them.

Since she has such a solid fan base she can spend more money on music videos. Luda doesn't have a diehard fan base like Missy so he can't spend as much on videos.

Just a theory.

Nah the record labels were paying for the video.

Luda clearly sold more records than missy.

But missy was more creative and prolly had more input to what she wanted to with her videos.

Look at the videos with her and luda together.

"One minute man" and "gossip folks"

One minute man introduced me to both luda and trina and not because of their verses... it was because of the video. Who can forget Trina part?

LUDA DROPPED SOME LAME ASS VIDEOS AFTER CUTTING OFF THE BRAIDS...

ITS LIKE HIS PERSONALITY WAS EMBEDDED IN EACH CORNROW....

not just videos. music in general. it's all very generic and could be made by some no name kid coming into the game, not a veteran in it like luda

Missy set the bar high from her very first album...

The Rain, Beep Me 911, Sock It to Me, Hit em With the Hee>>>>>>>>

She came out the gate with Hype Williams. The Sock It To Me video alone was next level shit for 97.

I believe a dope video can take a song from "meh" to the hottest song out.

Shmurda's video was simple but it introduced the shmoney dance which basically everyone does once the songs plays.

And also the infamous disappearing hat

Triumph comes to mind also.

Would it have been as impactful if not for the epic video?

Beat and verses were dope but i could've went down as another posse cut

TRIUMPH WILL FOREVER BE THE GOAT POSSE JOINT, BUT WITHOUT THE VIDEO....IT DOES SEEM KIND OF "ALBUM-CUT" STATUS.

I MEAN BACK IN THOSE DAYS...EVERYONE REFERED TO THAT SONG AS "THE KILLER BEES" BASED ON THE VIDEO ALONE.

That Deck verse alone would have made it impactful, but I agree that the video took it to another level.
