Drake is my nigga but he croons on too many tracks its fucking confusing.I fuck with drake's music almost every day but Big Sean IMO is more entertaining.Drake sings too much and too emo sometimes.I like drake from the "Play Ball" with Baby and "Up all Night" with Nicki not Drake from fucking "marvins room" we hear from the second Drake(emo drake) too much IMO..

bottom line is, fans complain too much and always want to box in their favorite artist..Cole will lose some of his core fanbase as he goes along, mainly because he wants to be mainstream and not just an underground artist..but I'm sure he'll gain fans along the way as well..say what you want about Workout, but he's gained many fans from that song..of course his core fanbase hate it, but the average radio listener now knows who Cole is because of it, and they love it..

Omar: In my opinion, some of his skills were showcased much better on his mixtapes than his album. In terms of raw talent, he possesses everything you look for in a superior emcee. I agree that Cole has managed to connect to a lot of his fans on a very personal level, which is much easier said than done. Would you agree or disagree that a lot of core members of Lauryn Hill’s, Lupe Fiasco’s and Kanye West’s audience felt just as emotionally connected before turning on those artists? I can see the same thing potentially happening with J. Cole.

As for that average joe crap, i think people are so mindfucked with the fantasy raps that hiphop has become a caricature of itself at this point. If you don't rap about a certain thing (pussy, drugs, killing,etc) or fit a certain image (jewelry, dreads, tats, clothes) people want to call you boring, meanwhile 90 percent of these rappers don't live what they rap.

The music is all entertainment now, and barely any truthfulness. That's why these posers are accepted and given a pass.
