I think his music and even his stuff with NSYNC was pretty damn good sonically... I think if he were black he would have been trapped by his genre and not able to be as pop as he was (black folks seem to not challenge genre barriers as much)

He did have a bit of R&B/Soul to him, but mostly he was pop through and through imo

If anything though i'd agree with the Usher comparison, but then JT is a little bit more likable as a person. I think the limits black artist have are ones we put on ourselves because we dont want to be looked at as sell outs or white washed.
