MMLP is a known classic album. just because u have a difference of opinion from the mass of the General Public doesnt mean its not a classic. The impact alone was crazy. the quality of that album was crazy. just stop it. cuz you in the minority if u think its not a classic.

MMLP and Em Show are classics in my opinion. I think they turns hip hop fans off cuz

1. he's white (this is a real reason for some people)

2. he's too absorbed in himself, people can't really directly relate to those records

3. it was too different from anything else at the time

4. the music isn't really all that timeless (I honestly wouldn't listen to half those beats if it wasn't for Em, but then again I feel the same about Scarface and Nas)

5. cuz he sells so well, he gets mixed up with all the pop acts like Britney and Justin, having bleached hair didn't help things either.

The fact is, Em was spittin classic material on his first 3 albums. Had it been from someone else, they would've been called underground classics at least. Capital Punishment was called a classic, and SSLP was just as good if not slightly behind it.

Who are these people that consider that a classic? Who?

Where is the impact? It didn't change the game or influence anybody, it just sold alot

MMLP is a classic. I completely understand why someone would say that his albums aren't cohesive, but from a lyrical standpoint, he went IN on MMLP and the Eminem Show.

Kill You
My Name Is
Amityville
I Still Don't Give A Fuck
I Just Don't Give A Fuck
What's My Name
Marshall Mathers
Criminal

that shit was ill as fuck. Classic shit from Em.

And not every classic album has an impact. There are alot of classic albums and mixtapes that fly under the radar and don't get the props they deserve. Charles Hamilton has a classic mixtape for example but it didn't have an impact.... whatever "impact" even means

While i cant stand the current em to say the slim shady lp and the marshall mathers lp are not classic is asinine!!!! specificall the sslp tho.. every bar was murder and the bass bros production is retarded seriously..cut it out... if u dont aknowledge those albums ur prolly a racist.. stan and the way i am played on ny radio constantly.. what about "if i get locked up tonight" it wasnt on those albums but it shows how perfect em was @ that point in time he was the best cuz the lyrics were mean and his ear for quality was crazy.... once again.. just stop

Food an liquor is close to a flawless album. That's the difference

This shit had alot of flaws... IMO the most overrated album on the IC... It made no impact on hiphop or the general masses.

You don't need impact to be a classic, but you better be flawless or close to that and age well.

No eminem album fits this criteria

Eh, still better then any album eminem would ever hope of releasing.

And I don't think FnL is a classic
