yeah good thread. I still think Bis and Moe Dee (and perhaps MC Shan as well) bodied him. And I still believe he started out as a biter. But yeah, LL was and is that dude. I must admit that I forget him when I think of the goats. Thanks for reminding me.

Early LL is one of the most important representatives of Golden era. He epitomed essence of hip-hop. His image and lyrical prowess always comes to mind ,when talking about good old days. His transition was quite drastic in mid 90's, but he never lost his skills and although last albums are filled with fillers, there's always some gem to find on it.

One of My favorite rappers EVER... I did A 'G.O.A.T' album appreciation thread the other month, that album never got the props it deserved... Was 5mic album imo...

LL COOL J vs CANIBUS from the BEEF II DVD

DO yall agree with Everybody except krs-1 who said LL jumped the gun when Canibus asked to borrow the mic or do yall agree with KRS-1 that he should of known better shit than that lol

KRS had a point. LL is sensitive, Canibus should have know L was going to take it as a shot. But even L knew he was wrong for going at Canibus on 4, 3, 2, 1 which is why he wanted the heat to die down before they collaborated again, but then Canibus jumped stupid...

L always been sensitive, especially about his respect. That's how he is, that battling shit motivates him. He's got a chip on his shoulder..STILL like 30yrs in the game and he still nutty.

It was funny seeing KRS in that video, since he also jumped the gun and had several disses aimed at Canibus for the "Twice as arrogant as KRS is" line. He even had Big Pun and Truck Turner join in.

Listen to Pun's, KRS, and Truck's verses.

KRS and Bis eventually worked together (it's in my signature).

It was a complement. LL jumped the gun, and this is coming from someone who was a big fan of his before I really got into Canibus.

Put it like this, if you were Canibus and LL responded the way he did, how would you react?

Would you let it slide "because he's a legend?"

Or would you be like fuck that, and go for his jugular?

Plus Bis already showed how hypocritical the fans, his peers, and a large number of others in hip-hop truly are after the J-Cole incident (which was a role reversal of the LL incident).

LL invented the Term "GOAT", I can't honestly take a Top 10 seriously without LL, that's just my opinion.

^ truth. I remember when he showed up wearing the GOAT jacket at the MTv awards. I thought it was hilarious.
