Single "She Will" Featuring Drake Dominates

September 02, 2011 11:54 AM Eastern Daylight Time
NEW YORK--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--Lil Wayne remains unstoppable with his hotly anticipated, critically-acclaimed new album for Cash Money Records/Universal Republic Records, THA CARTER IV, breaking the iTunes record for first-week U.S. album sales in only four days with over 300,000 units sold. Lil Wayne breaks the record set only two weeks ago by Jay-Z and Kanye West’s "Watch The Throne," and held by Coldplay before that.

THA CARTER IV became available on iTunes after Lil Wayne’s monumental performance on the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday August 28th. After going live the album quickly clinched the #1 spot on the iTunes top album chart as well as the hip-hop chart, dethroning Jay-Z & Kanye West and Adele and surpassing brand new releases from Red Hot Chili Peppers and David Guetta.

Lil Wayne’s record-breaking triumph is driven by THA CARTER IV's display of epic rap mastery from the genre's king. The album picks up where 2008's chart-dominating sensation THA CARTER III left off, but with even more fire and flare. Current single "She Will" (featuring Drake) took a firm hold on radio and became an immediate hit, but the album is locked and loaded with even more anthems including "How to Love" and "6 Foot 7 Foot" (featuring Corey Gunz), as well as incendiary collaborations with T-Pain, Nas, Andre 3000, John Legend, Rick Ross, and more.

Lil Wayne continues to rule the road as well on this summer's I AM STILL MUSIC TOUR, with even more dates to be announced.

THA CARTER IV is here and this time Lil Wayne has raised the bar AND broken it.

Cosign. I'm rooting for MBDTF for Best Rap Album but C4 is selling like crazy and we know the Grammys latch on to the most commercial album in it's respective genre.
