MTV recently caught up with Drake backstage at the Barclays Center in New York City after he had finished his rehearsals for the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards, which are taking place tonight.

Above, Drizzy explains what he has in store for his performance and mentions that it will be his first time ever singing live on television. He will be performing both his singles “Hold On, We’re Going Home” and “Started From The Bottom“.

“I get to do the new record, I’m doing ‘Hold On, We’re Going Home’ into ‘Started From the Bottom,’ so it’s really just an exciting performance to show the range and also show the diversity of music on the album.”

“We’re blowing the stage up, I got things going off, I had to test with the fire marshall and it’s gonna be good. I’ve been doing this for a while, pyro doesn’t scare me. You know I’m ready, if you’ve ever been on stage with Lil Wayne, he likes explosions and they’re loud you know, so I’m used to it.”

“I’m pretty much just trying to stay consistent. I released the artwork the other day, so you’ll see a bit of that in there. Just trying to set it off, September 24, that’s all I’m focused on, this performance and then just going home to put some final touches on the album with 40 and that’s it.”

After the jump below, you can watch part 2 of Drizzy Drake‘s interview with MTV. He talks about how badly he wants to win a KAWS Moonman and if he loses out to Macklemore, he will offer him money to buy his award.

if this was the 90s or even early 2000s Drake would have got hit ass whooped and been ja ruled out the industry.

Lil Wayne Lets Two Fans Listen To His “Dedication 5” Mixtape

Lil Wayne and Cortez Bryant flew two lucky fans called Wisam Kizy and Javin Mesi from Michigan to California last night, so they could watch Wayne‘s show and then listen to his forthcoming Dedication 5 mixtape.

After the concert, Weezy, Tez, Wisam and Javin all traveled to a skate park on the tour bus while bumping Dedication 5. Wisam went on Twitter to share his thoughts on the mixtape and mentioned that he thinks D5 is a huge step up from Dedication 4 and more like Dedication 2.

Javin also confirmed two more songs that Tune has freestyled over on Dedication 5, which are Kanye West’s “New Slaves” and A$AP Rocky’s “Fuckin’ Problems“. Don’t forget, we already know Wayne has rapped over Jay-Z’s “F*ckWithMeYouKnowIGotIt” and Rich Homie Quan’s “Type Of Way” too.

San Diego was amazing tonight Thk u all. Love u all! Got my man @WisamKizyJr & @JavinMesi listening to d5 rite now! True fans I appreciate em

You can view a pic of Wisam and Javin with Tunechi above. I am sure this would have been an amazing experience!

Is nobody picking black winners?

All year everybody on here agree that Wayne trash, but soon as the nigga got a mixtape or album coming out all of a sudden everybody can't wait to hear it

No Ceilings is Wayne's second best mixtape

D1, D2, Drought 3, SQ4(If that counts)>>>No Ceilings, The Suffix might be better too, haven't listened in a minute though.
